Guest Editors The Aston Shuffle have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to dance music. Today, they’ve put their heads together and compiled a list of eight homegrown acts they think we’ll all be hearing a lot about in 2012. Want to know who’s earned themselves the Aston Shuffle seal of approval? Read on and take note.

Elizabeth Rose
Despite being only 21, Elizabeth Rose’s self-produced demos with influences from the likes of Bjork, Fever Ray and Bat For Lashes have certainly gained her a lot of attention lately. Having just wowed audiences on the recent Parklife tour, and with an EP in the works, 2012 is going to be a big year for the Sydney artist. We should probably also mention that she has a brother who goes by the name of Hook n Sling – clearly, talent runs in the family.

Flume
Flume is one word on a lot of people’s lips at the moment. While still relatively young, he has the ability and musical knowledge of someone who has been in the game for a very long time. His Dilla-inspired blissed out beats have been getting smashed on triple j lately and have got a lot of attention overseas as well. Flume just dropped an EP under the moniker What So Not with fellow producer Emoh Instead, which is more dance-floor oriented – it’s clear that this kid has a very bright future indeed!
