Digitalism: Our Favourite Albums

The Rapture – Echoes

“That was the perfect mix between Joy Division darkness, disco and DIY punk. House Of Jealous Lovers was probably the first alternative crossover record that everyone played – any house DJ. That record was played by people who hate guitar music. That probably was the last wave of electroclash. You know, with DJ Hell releasing NY Muscle and Gigalo Records, Felix da Housecat and Jacques Lu Cont. We loved that movement so much. Who knows though, Jacques Lu Cont is back!”
The Chemical Brothers – Push The Button

“All the albums are different and yet still so good. This one came out in the early days of Digitalism, when we played weird stuff and breakbeats in our sets.”
U2 – Under A Blood Red Sky [Live]

“It’s a mini-album with loads of classics on it. That’s when they were really cool. The Edge plays one string on his guitar and it triggers ten layers of sound, and you’ve got people under the stage pressing all the pedals and stuff. It’s insane. They are another good example of riffs and music where you sort of fly away a bit. They are so annoying, but they have respect for what they did in the past.”
Various – Music From The Films of Harrison Ford

“It included amazing stuff by John Williams, with Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Blade Runner. It covers a lot of our favourite film composers in one go! Growing up watching E.T. and Jurassic Park was this special thing, and the music was great. My parents gave me this.”
