James Holden – Solstice
“It would be criminal not to show James Holden some credit for the development of melodic dance music in the new millennium. Founder of Border Community label, he’s since moved on to techier horizons, although his roots were in house and trance music. Solstice is an 11-minute pulsing musical masterpiece.”
The MFA – The Difference It Makes
“Speaking of James Holden, his Balance 005 CD was a seriously high-class compilation that shaped the Australian scene in a big way around the time of its release in 2003. This track kicked off the double disc compilation in style, and for those who’ve not heard it I highly recommend checking it out – some real genius in there.”
Junkie XL feat. Sasha – Breezer
“One of my favourite records from the Sasha & Digweed era, Breezer feels like the closing theme to a great story. Sasha brings the sunny progressive vibes and Junkie XL brings his amazing flair for production (not to mention some nice guitar work). A true timeless classic.”
Ulrich Schnauss – Never Be The Same
“I love ambient and downtempo music when it’s done well, and German producer Ulrich Schnauss has always been an inspiration when it comes to creating atmosphere through melody and chords. He’s quite prolific and the amount of choice with his works is sometimes overwhelming, but his album +Goodbye_ and this track from it are personal favourites of mine.”
