Tiesto's Five Must-Sees For Stereosonic

Over the course of his career, it stands to reason that Tiesto’s amassed a pretty extensive bank of knowledge about all things dance music. So with the well-deserved status as one of the world’s biggest DJs, years of touring, plenty of work with other big names and some huge production hits to his name, it’s always interesting to pick the Dutch titan’s brain for what he considers his best moments. That’s why every time inthemix has a chat to Tijs, we get him to run us through a new list – first up, he talked us through his ten favourite venues in the world to play and next, he told us his five proudest career moments. This time, we probed Tiesto for his five Stereosonic must-sees – no mean feat with Stereo packing their biggest line-up yet in 2012.

Headliner status aside, Tiesto’s pretty well-qualified to talk us through his picks of the lineup. With 2012 seeing him release Volume Two of his Club Life compilation, set off on another College Invasion tour and keeping busy at Pacha, he’s as immersed in the scene as ever. Over to you, Tijs…

Calvin Harris is without a doubt one of the best producers out there right now and a very special DJ too. His control of the crowd is awesome and I always love catching his sets.”

“What can I say; Carl Cox is a total legend and a dance music institution. You definitely shouldn’t miss seeing him, an awesome DJ with a big smile!”

Major Lazer have a new album coming which is sounding even better than the first. Such a great live show!”

“Since long before we collaborated on C’Mon, I’ve been admirer of my buddy Diplo. He pulls together so many different styles perfectly and the crowds always go wild!”

Tommy Trash is definitely one of the most exciting producers and DJs out there right now. He’ll be dropping some huge singles over the next few months so watch out! His homecoming sets at Stereosonic will be HUGE!”

Nick Sentience should be on that list! Especially considering he's in town.
