Melbourne’s Seven nightclub and Sydney’s HOME nightclub are pairing up two of America’s most enduring DJs in Josh Wink and Doc Martin for a couple of nights of tech-house/house this week. Sydney will see them on Thursday night at HOME and Melbourne will see them on Saturday, the 9th of December at Seven.

Josh Wink hails from Philadelphia and was one of the first DJs to arrive on the US rave scene. In 1995 he released ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’, his best known work. This year Josh came back strongly with ‘How’s Your Evening So Far?’, a remix of Lil’ Louis’ ‘French Kiss’. He continues to look after the label Ovum Records with King Britt.

This is Wink’s first visit to Australia in some time. Last weekend Josh played a low-key gig at Salt in Melbourne as a taster. If you missed it, check out his 1999 tech-house mix-CD Profound Sounds, Vol 1.

Doc Martin, who comes from San Francisco via Los Angeles, is making his second visit to Australia this year. The eclectic DJ stunned crowds at Seven a few months back, spinning everything from The Clash to Madonna.

It should be a good night to dress up and get down if you’re in Melbourne or Sydney.

Stay tuned for a full interview with Doc Martin tomorrow.
