This is already an icon in Adelaide’s dance music calendar, but this year the line up and venue, deems this the biggest party yet!
Derrick Carter- Chicago USA
Derrick L. Carter was enveloped by House music from its nascent beginnings. This unique and innovative DJ style soon began to attract a loyal fan base, and it wasn’t long before this prolific globetrotting soon earned him the reputation as the Ambassador for the new generation of Chicago house, following in the legendary footsteps of Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson and Ron Hardy. Derrick is blessed with an ungodly skill of being able to play the most unlikely records in a creative, unorthodox style, taking that trademark Chicago sound to a whole new level. After his debut full length album on Classic, Derrick joins Adelaide for the first time as he headlines the largest day festival event at our new venue, The Shores.
Cassius- France
Stardust’s secret weapon, just as the line up was complete we add, superstars, Cassius.
Cassius could be the hardest men in dance music. Don¹t mess with Cassius. They took their name from the world’s greatest heavyweight boxer, because he decided he didn’t want it any more. But for the last decade, they’ve made some of the sweetest music, produced a portfolio of house, hip hop and leftfield music with more high-fat content than foie gras on toast, traveled their heavyweight sound across the world and spend ten years building Paris a name to rival London, Detroit, Chicago and New York when it comes to show-stopping records. In combination they’re among the most successful outfits currently operating both in France and in the global house music demi-monde, and last year with the most highly anticipated album since Daft Punk’s ‘Discovery’, came “Au Reve” a piece that still has them climbing the scale as dance music heavyweights. A festival highlight.
Miguel Migs- Naked Music, Transport – USA
Quality… the one words that always enter into the same sentence when describing this man. Once again Stardust delivers the big names and presents Naked Music and Transport top gun, Miguel Migs. His past visits at Strange Days and Naked Music 01 in the courtyards, proved why he is still top billing festivals and exclusive clubs across the universe. Whether recording under his alter- ego Petalpusher or the releases on his own label, Transport, Migs continuously increases his demand as a leading producer and remixer. Migs will not disappoint!
DJ Hyper- Bedrock Breaks UK
Young Guy Hatfield is heralded as a breakbeat leader after his work on the Y3K album and work on John Digweed’s Bedrock Breaks imprint. Hyper’s unique DJ sets, pushing forward breaks, has earned him the respect of fellow pioneers Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrem and a residency in the PuSH room at Digweed’s now infamous Bedrock night at Heaven. Hyper’s groundbreaking Y3K compilation album on Distinctive Breaks, hailed as the most important Breaks albums to date, became album of the month in DJ, Muzik, Mixmag, Wax, Ministry and many other esteemed publications.
Stardust once again bringing the breaks to Adelaide!
Mickey Finn- Urban Takeover UK
Mickey started DJ’ing in the late eighties and became well known with the advent of the Acid House movement in South London. In the early nineties breakbeat and loose jungle techno was filling his record boxes as he travelled the length and breadth oh the UK. Mickey Finn is one of the most popular and highly regarded DJs in jungle. Some DJs make their mark through the quality of their own music and others by the quality of their skills as a DJ. Mickey has done both with more anthems under his belt than most could ever dream of and DJ resume that reads like the history of drum and bass.
Bad Company-BC Recordings UK
For a few years the four members of Bad Company operated as single and double entities with Maldini collaborating with D-Bridge as Future Forces while Dan Stein (Absolute Zero) was working with Michael Wojcicky as Fresh & Vegas for labels like Renegade Hardware and Matrix’s Metro imprint. In 1998 they joined forces to form Bad Company and released ‘The Nine’, a monster of a tune that promoted them instantly into the heavyweight league. Undeterred, they met the pressure with ‘The Pulse’ released on Rider’s Prototype and then they went in for the kill, unleashing a series of bass-heavy body blows with their long-player ‘Inside The Machine’. Within a year, Bad Company had climbed to the top of the heap and become the official Champions Of Drum & Bass. In 2002 they released “Shot Down on Safari” and cemented this title. Now they return to Adelaide exclusively for Stardust to unleash the dubs you’d die for.
High Contrast – Hospital Records UK
One of the hottest new producers in drum and bass High Contrast has become one of the most in demand DJ’s on the d’n’b circuit today. His “True Colours” album received acclaim from critics and punters alike and was touted as “one of the essential dance albums of 2002” by Mixmag. It also earned him the title “Best Newcomer” at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards and cemented his position as a leader in soulful breakbeat. His music fuses many styles from deep jazz to garage to disco and it’s no wonder he’s one to get excited about.
L Double- Flex Records UK
Without a doubt L Double is one of the God Fathers of the drum & bass movement. Flex Records stormed on to the drum and bass scene in May 1994. Since then L Double has been responsible for well over 60 releases including remix work on many leading drum and bass labels including Ram, Reinforced and of course not forgetting his rework of the infamous “Bass 2 Dark” for Goldie’s Metalheadz. This is L Double’s first visit to Adelaide so get ready to feel the ride.

He has worked alongside top flight DJ’s such as Andy Farley, Paul Glazby, Ed Real and Steve Hill. Jon is the driving force behind the Retek Label. The label started with ‘Tec It’ and followed with ‘Africaine’ with Nick Sentience providing the remix which has smashed clubland apart.
WET Musik
Hailing from Australia’s current techno capital, Will E Tell and Simon Digby have become synonymous with techno down under. The collaboration of Simon Digby and Will E Tell stemmed from similar personal ambition and goals. Together they formed the Melbourne label WetMusik in 1999.
