As any DJ does, Rob Wu loves the music he spins. Never one to stick to a particular House sound and employing tracks that have shaped Wu’s taste over the years. You can feel Wu’s influence in his sets as he throws in today, sprinkles yesterday and adds in tomorrow. Think disco-ey bass lines, boot-legging R n B/hip-house, funked jazzy riffs to percussive melodic beats.
Today, for Wu, the jock passionately creates a sound scape that encompasses the music he loves. Whatever era it is that he plays, so long as it is for the right mood and his audience love to dance to.
Wu’s has an ear for catchy beats that run parrallel with driving rare grooves, layered with lush vocals. He will then sex it up with the sax, increase the energy with bongos and let you sway to atmospheric flowing
flutes.
When Wu isn’t behind the decks making asses shake, you find him shaking his own ass supporting an international or even local jock. You’ll find many DJ’s at gigs rhythmically nodding heads with a scotch n dry in one hand and their backs against the wall. But not with this particular DJ, Wu likes to give back what is given to him.
Its no surprise the past year has been a very busy one for Wu, being featured on the JJJ and Kiss FM airwaves. Wu won the eXpose DJ comp@candy bar.
The past years highlight was a special guest spot in Kyoto, Japan. Quite regularly you’ll find the jock providing listening pleasure at StreetXchange for shopper’s delight and random beach parties to rock summer.
