Spitch has been DJing for a little over 4 years now. He played in and managed local Sydney bands for 6 years as a bass/guitar player before getting interested in electronic/dance music. He plays a wide variety of styles including: minimal tech/house, electro, tech-house, mutant disco, twisted funk, and punk-funk.
Spitch is one third of the Sydney party crew ‘High-Jinks’. Having recently wound up a 2-year long successful run of monthly parties at the Sly Fox Hotel in Enmore, that featured on 2SER and FBI radio and in 3DWorld mag, Brag, and the Sydney Morning Herald’s Metro, the High-Jinks crew have now turned their attention to one-off special parties in different spaces involving both local and international artists and DJs. Their recent Modeselektor (BPitch Control, Berlin) party at Sydney Uni was their first foray into touring internationals and was a great success. Spitch was also heavily involved in organizing the New Years Day party ‘Pub Day’ at Sydney Uni, which attracted over 550 people.
Spitch has also DJed at many other Sydney venues including Home, Tank, Frigid @ Newtown, the Metro, the Abercrombie, V-Bar, Candys Apartment, The World, and at big outdoor parties in the Bellingen/Coffs Harbour area and the Blue Mountains of NSW. He also held a weekly DJ residency at the Marlborough Hotel in Newtown every Friday night during 2005.
This mix, done live, was designed as a demo mix for friends and interested parties. It was done using 2 CDJ-800s, a bottle of shiraz, and Spitch’s trusty Kaos Pad 2.
