Not only is RobKAY a man of immense dimensions, he is, more importantly, a man of immense experience both behind the decks and in the production studio. As a DJ, you can be sure as hell that when RobKAY’s in the driver’s seat you’re in for a thrilling ride. When he teams up with musical maestro Ben Garden, he’s better known as one half of internationally successful Australian production outfits Cabin Crew and Aviators.

It all started in Canberra for Rob during his early schools years when his fixation with the technical masters of turntabilism and his own musical desires quickly lead him behind the decks. His natural musicality and technical abilities saw him rise to the top of the Canberra scene, taking out ACT #1 DJ in the Technics inthemix50 poll for two consecutive years.

It was during this time, while at the helm of Canberra’s emerging house scene (which included a residency at legendary club Lot 33) that Rob’s creative energy guided him toward the studio, where he joined forces with long time school friend & musical ingénue Ben Garden. With his new production partner based in Sydney, a relocation was to follow as Rob freed himself from his hometown commitments to take the plunge and dedicate his life to his music.

As a DJ Rob has quickly established his name and trusty talents within the Sydney club scene. His forward thinking approach to Djing & commitment to mastering his craft has pushed him to exploit all technical assets on hand, guaranteeing an inspired show to impress both plugged in clubbers and industry types alike. This has seen Rob touring the nation, headlining many of Australia’s most influential clubs and club-nights. Rob has also found himself sharing the booth with international big-nuts such as Falcon, Albert Cabrera, DJ Sneak, Full Intention, Mark Knight and Miguel Migs. He currently holds local residencies at Sydney’s hottest venues – including Tank, Moulin Rouge & YU, as well as Brisbane’s GPO – testament to both his adaptability and the recognition that he commands.

Whilst in the studio under the production guise of Aviators, Rob’s initial projects were met with early success, This included chart topping remixes of Craig Obey’s Coolin’ at the Bar & Hyp-ma-tize-me, Soul System’s ‘Feels So Good’ for Hed Kandi, as well as a string of sought after white labels which ensured the Aviators name as a mainstay in record bags across the globe.

Their rework of Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life” later went on to be picked up by US label, Soulfuric, whilst their most notable production to date “Star2fall” (as Cabin Crew) was picked up by industry juggernauts Ministry of Sound UK and anthem status ensued – with the track hitting #3 in the UK singles chart.

Absorbed in remixing, under his collective aliases Aviators, Cabin Crew and more recently as RobKAY, Rob has accrued a diverse array of aural accomplishments, including remixes for: Kaskade – In This Life, Love is – LaTrice Barnett, and Gaelle –Give it back for Ministry Of Sound

Affectionately dubbed the gentile giant of the music world, Rob certainly is larger than life in every way with a list of achievements to match. Through channeling his musical creativity both in the studio and behind the decks, RobKAY has established himself an accomplished DJ / Producer and a credible player on the international circuit.
