From warehouse parties in New Zealand to residencies in Australia, Kane Bligh’s music has so far taken him across three continents – and he’s not resting yet. Kane’s love of cultural exploration, and his belief in music as the true universal language, will see him travelling across Asia, South America and Europe in the coming year.
Currently based in Sydney, Kane is the man behind Musica, a successful monthly night in the heart of Sydney’s clubbing scene, Kings Cross. Musica stands out from an oft-generic and fashion-driven scene, attracting a colourful and diverse crowd reminiscent of clubbing days past. Barely a genre left untouched; never a night the same as the last.
A charismatic and dynamic DJ, Kane’s presence behind the decks easily connects him with every pair of feet in the room. Ranging from deep house and tech to electro and progressive, Kane’s priority is creating fun on the dance floor. With regular invitations to spin at events outside Musica, Kane has played alongside Lee Burridge (UK), Omid 16b (UK), Rowan Blades (UK), Steve Gerrard (UK) and Ricky Stone (UK).
A career highlight for Kane was the Skol Praia festival in Brazil. Invited to play an opening set, the reaction of the 6,000 strong crowd saw him being slotted into two further gigs at the festival, including the closing set. He took home a love of Brazil and a strong desire to return and play for the Brazilian people again.
Kane’s reason for DJing is simple; to him, it is one of the last bastions of absolute pleasure. And his contagious energy ensures that every punter is swept along for the ride with him. Kane wants the whole room to take something away with them at the end of night, and every one of them – well familiar with his dedication to the dance floor – know that’s just what they’ll get.
