Blueprint is 27 year old Melbourne producer Glenn Rogers. He is fast becoming one of the rising stars in the breaks scene. Sharing the stage with the likes of Plump DJ’s, Rennie Pilgrem, Stanton Warriors, DJ Hyper and the Drummatic Twins, Blueprint is garnering support from all time zones for his take on breaks.
Sound Not Scene signed Blueprint in July, 2005, joining Melbourne breaks guru EK on the roster. His debut 12” What Kind of Friend/With You Awake was heard from the UK to his home town, championed on Annie Nightingale’s BBC1 show and Triple J in Australia.
Later that year Glenn was voted, over a field of more than 400, as the winner of the Nokia Connecting Beats competition, traveling to the UK to play live at Brighton’s Supercharged and meet with Fingerlickin’ Records. Triple J broadcast Blueprint live from Revolver, Melbourne, following with a number of live shows across the east coast of Australia.
It all began back in ’96, when Glenn first began tinkering with tech toys, armed with a Yamaha synth and a sampler his first demo EP came out in ’98 and he went on to pick up the Nescafe Big Break Dance Music Award in 2000. His remix of an Aphex Twin track popped up on SBS’s dance bible Alchemy, while sonicanimation searched out his talents in 2002 and let him give a few of their tracks a second tweak.
2006 has already been a busy year with gigs alongside Stanton Warriors and DJ Hyper and a second 12” slated for release in the second half of the year.
