The last six months have seen big things for Bass Kleph, and some big changes too.
His electro rock remix of Amiel’s ‘Be Your Girl’ has crossed over to the mainstream Australia wide. This was the first Bass Kleph production to feature as a music video clip, but not the only thing he’s had on TV. Bass Kleph’s music puts the get up and move into the current Toyota Hilux campaign for their new 4×4 as well. On the tour front, Kleph travelled all round Oz for the inthemix is six release and managed to squeeze in extra stops in Hobart, Cairns, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Gold Coast, Jindabyne and Bellingen. In his home town of Sydney he has been rocking his residency at Break Inn, which has grown to become even more than just the best breaks night in town, recently picking up the club night of the year award in 3D Word magazine. Meanwhile his bootlegs are in high demand from the biggest names in the game, and he still holds down his weekly radio show, Beat Box, on 2SER.
One of the big changes is the announcement that Bass Kleph has now left his old label, Breaking Point Records. After a very eventful and successful few years Bass Kleph has decided to embrace a new project and personal direction. In fact the biggest news of all is the announcement of his new label; Vacation Records. Whilst many thought Bass Kleph ran Breaking Point, given his standing as one of the labels most popular showcased artists, this was in fact not at all the case. With Vacation Records – Bass Kleph’s first label endeavor – he’ll have the opportunity to follow his own very clear vision and direction. The label’s ethos is a tight approach to tech, electro house and breaks, with some big surprises in store. What we can tell you now is this; Vacation Records will run on a modern, very artist friendly model, with a high output and a fresh new sound. Some of the initial artists involved are Gotye, fRew and Bass Kleph of course.
Bass Kleph’s Summer Vacation Mix 07 gives you a sneak peak at two of the new Vacation releases, as well as a feel for the general vibe of the label.
