The Direction

Junior Boy’s Like A Child (Carl Craig Remix) sets the mood from the start of the mix, this tune is one of the true timeless records to come out of 2007 so far. Its deep organic groove is something I try to keep through out the full sixty minutes. Even though the mix progresses through to deep tech house before stepping to up to a more melodic feel towards the end I really wanted to work a twisted sustainability that continually flows from start to finish. The last track is a surprise that makes the perfect ending and this tune has been getting some amazing dance floor feedback every time I have played it, a true weapon.

The Tracks

The tracks I have selected have been very soothing on my soul after late nights out, bended my head in clubs and rocked the socks off a kick on with friends. Tracks like Kerri Chandler’s The Invaders (The Panic) can hurdle you through to another dimension (A good one!). DJinxx – Be Quite (D’Julz Remix) on Electrochoc grooves its way through a classic old school tech house vibe. Some of the tunes towards the end have been working well in the Infamous room at Home nightclub and at Sweetchilli for the last few weeks now. Jamie Anderson’s remix of I Try & Voltique’s Night Flight bring together a simple bass line with lush synths, these two tunes continually work well on dance floors throughout the country.

The Sound

I am hoping this CD can be listened to in multiple environments, this isn’t a club mix so I didn’t want anything to confronting. The sound falls on the deeper side of house music, these kinds of sounds have been really inspiring me over the last few months. Stripped back with a subtle groove and lots of little twists & turns. The mix never really stays in the same direction. There are definite moments where the sound is uplifting. Steve Mill’s The Moonwalk takes you on a trippy synthy journey and you could almost get lost in it’s epic chords and simple refrain. Jimpster’s remix of Motorcitysoul’s Aura is very groovy deep house number its wobbly bass line has been a proven favorite on many a dance floor. Put simply the sound of this mix is house music, deep, groove orientated house and I hope you enjoy it.
