Shortly after realising his limited dancing skills, this young hot cue cheese greater of a DJ turned to the other side of the decks, quickly mashing up Sydney’s music scene for the better. Years (6 or 7) after courting his first set of 1000’s he soon realised too much sleep had been lost. Ember picked up spots at clubs across Sydney, shortly to be snatched by Yu to become their Friday night resident slash poster boy slash co-runner of the now massive monthly ‘Make or Break’ party with Alex Dimitroff. He then discovered a surprisingly well worded Zooky in a gutter outside Havana and after some (meaning many… many) free drinks began weekly sets at the slapdash club upstairs. Carrying around 600 cds to 6 gigs a night, it wasn’t until 2007 that ember coined his own unique sound, an aborted techy cheesy haphazard mash, which somehow works… With a style that screams, “if you hate me then fuck you”, Ember would be one of the only twenty something DJs sporting non-fluro clad parachute pants. Jumping seamlessly between his servings of driving bumpy party electro to bouncy subversive tech, his versatility to please the masses cannot be questioned. You can catch Ember playing sets across Sydney from Home to Havana, from Yu to Sounds, every week. Having already supported the likes of Jo Mills (Ibiza), Sandy Rivera, Nick Littlemore, Paolo Mojo, Hot Chip, Ajax, Melbourne Militia (John Course, Andy Van, Dirty South, Grant Smillie), this new addition is showing no signs of slowing down.
