Hailing from Canberra, production duo Paul Richter and Paul Beohm began writing tunes together after a chance meeting a few years ago. Quickly, their original and remix work was hitting record stores after signing with a number of Australian and International labels. Their production work has received support and high rotation from the likes of Hybrid, The Crystal Method, The Plump DJs, James Zabiela, Phil K, Atomic Hooligan, and Elite Force. Karton’s live and DJ shows saw them support some of the industry’s heavyweights, including The Freestylers, The Plump DJs, The Stanton Warriors, Smithmonger, London Elektricity and Mc Wrec, Artificial Intelligence, Kid Kenobi, Friendly, Nubreed, Basskleph, 30hz and Baobinga, Kosheen, Klaus ‘Heavyweight’ Hill, Jono Fernandez, The Presets, Decoder Ring, Luke Chable, DJ Randall, DJ Fierce, DJ Break, The Hilltop Hoods, Soma Rasa, Good Buddha, and Infusion just to name a few. BBC’s Radio1 recorded a Karton live show, which was broadcast on Annie Nightingale’s infamous UK show. The duo are currently locked away recording a debut LP covering a range of styles including breaks, rock, drum & bass, hip hop, down-tempo and big beat as well as putting the touches on an all new live show incorporating live percussion, guitars and vocalists. Despite this heavy schedule, Karton are still out and about, performing their unique DJ sets mixing up a steady diet of breaks, hip-hop, drum & bass and anything else that takes their fancy and moves the dance floor.
