Concerned with DJing to dancefloors full of punters as opposed to dark corners full of other DJs and/or dance purists, Turbosaurus is about the party. A fan of anything that includes guts, sparkle and a wicked chorus, his sets are generally overflowing with luscious waterfalls of electro-rock, synth-pop, French house, Italo disco, and lately a bit more fidget house and bandwagon-tech. Turbosaurus’ mixing style facilitates his penchant for the party vibe, with the emphasis being on dropping the megaton bombs rather than spending 3 minutes surgically blending two tracks seamlessly. When faced with the option of stroking his chin whilst tweaking the mids or just pumping up the gain and jumping up and down in the booth, the decision is not a difficult one for Turbosaurus. Frequently rocking a Turbosaurgasm through the Perthquake, he started out at houseparties and then used his own club night Cassette to get a bit more of a foot in the door. At 22 he’s now a regular element in Perth’s electro-bounce-lazer-disco equation, Turbosaurus has worked his way up to play alongside acts such as Busy P, DJ Mehdi, Justice, Soulwax, SebastiAn, Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, Riton, Headman and Melt. A man with big dreams and even bigger shoes, expect to see sautéing a dancefloor near you sometime soon.
