“He not busy being born, is busy dying” – wise words that PTY LTD have endeavoured to live by since their formation in 2001. Their first steps began with an EP called “Liquid Sunshine“ which brought about their first leap into the international music scene after US DJ JT Donaldson saw them performing in hometown Brisbane. Two tracks from the EP, “Who’s been Watchin’ You” and “Feeling Is Gone” were eventually remixed and released on two 12” singles through US label Gallery Records in 2004 featuring remixes by Donaldson, Derrick Carter and DJ Joshua.

PTY started with pace and style and have not eased up since. After releasing a critically acclaimed debut album ‘You Should Be Like This More Often’ at the end of 2003, PTY embarked on a mini world tour touching down in cities including Kathmandu, Tokyo, LA and Chicago, where they played open air parties and club shows. Two singles have been released from the album, “Treat Me Like That” and “Elevator Lovin’”, the latter was remixed by DJ Blade of Jesto Funk and became a favourite of renowned US DJ, Danny Tenaglia after he heard the mix while playing with Blade in Naples, Italy.

PTY have performed constantly at venues around Australia including Good Vibrations, Woodford and The Falls festivals, they have also supported a number of overseas acts and DJs including Moloko, Dimitri from Paris, Carl Cox and JJ Hernandez & Latrice Barnett. More recently PTY played at the KissFm (Melbourne’s dance music station) “Kiss My Grass” Festival in Melbourne which was attended by 10,000 punters. PTY were one the few ‘live’ acts invited to play on the bill.

PTY live is ever evolving, with no show the same, but always capturing a special flava. The Brisbane based trio are reinventing soulful house music on the live front and have created a groundswell around Australia and a growing fan base internationally. Blending ol’ skool and nu skool with classic soulful vocals, PTY are one of the freshest new acts to emerge on the scene in some time, live they re-inforce the point. With a new album just completed, PTY are preparing the release of their next single “Make Amends” to follow up their ARIA Top10 Club track, “Trying To Leave”. A remix is already in the bag from UK’s Crazy Penis – they also remixed “Trying” – with additional remixes in production, including another from Blade.
