With their most recent mix, Dan Auxiliary and John Dubbs prove they don’t just make tracks that bring down the disco, they know how to serve them too.
They’ve had great success with their recent remix of Bass Kleph’s ‘Coup d’Etat’ and their first original release ‘Freak Out’ – both getting much local and international praise from the likes of Plump DJs, Slyde, General Midi and Lisa Lashes, to name a few. The Bass Kleph remix of ‘Freak Out’ held the #1 spot on DJdownload (www.djdownload.com) for four weeks solid and is about to appear on Ministry of Sound UK compilation ‘Housexy’.
The Shopliftas can add this to the prior success of ‘Daily Operation’ – released on UK label Hardcore Beats, which also featured on FabricLive.19, mixed by the Freestylers. So what’s next for the duo? With plenty more original tracks and reworks on the agenda, along with a tight schedule of DJ work to keep them occupied over the coming months, who knows… that international praise might just lead to international plays.
