Although only at the current age of 25, Husky is developing into one of Sydney’s most sought after DJs. Husky began DJing as a weekly resident at the infamous Home Bar, spreading his infectious grooves at a young age. Since these humble beginnings Husky has been booked to play at some of Sydney’s biggest venues including, Arthouse (KINK), Home, Candies Apartment, Bohem @ GAS, Tank, YU, Dragonfly, Le Panic, Plantation, Moulin Rouge, Lady Lux, Havana, Cruise Bar, The Bourbon etc. Not only has he been booked for club gigs but Husky was selected to play at the Future Music Festival in March 2006, which had him playing alongside some of the biggest names in dance music at Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse.
The young DJ has played alongside a massive list of international artists already, some of these include, Miguel Migs, Julius papp, Andy Caldwell, Joey Youngman, Chris Lum, Carlos Gibbs, Luke Solomon, Thomas Sahs, Albert Cabrera, Ali B, Lottie, Yousef, Gene Farris, Audiofly, Mark Knight, Carl Kennedy, Chuck Love, the Littlemen, Bobby and Steve, Stonebridge, Dirt Crew, Play Paul, James Curd (greenskeepers), Princess Superstar, Roger Sanchez, Ron Carroll, Jamie Lewis, Scott Wozniak, Jay-J, Mark Grant, Sarah Main, Alan Braxe, Kris Menace, Sharem Jay and Spektrum to name a few.
Husky joined forces with long time friend and colleague Yogi a few years back to form the production/live act duo Random Soul. The dynamic duo have secured a remix and release of their track “Key To Soul”, which is due for release on Shifted Music NYC, owned by none other than Jay-J of Moulton Studios San Francisco. It has already made it to 3 compilations and the buzz around the release is growing. Following the signing to Jay-J’s label, Random Soul came to the attention of house music stalwart Miguel Migs. He has signed a number of their tracks to his internationally popular US based label, Salted Music.
The start to 2007 was a massive venture for the DJ/producers as they embarked on their first international tour, calling at Holywood’s popular spot “Tokio”, which had them performing alongside veterans Andy Caldwell and Julius Papp. Their next stop saw the lads in New York City spending their time with Jay-j in his studio, mixing down and mastering their upcoming release “Key to Soul”. Needless to say, it was an invaluable and once in a lifetime experience to work alongside the man himself. Following New York was their next gig at the 2007 Miami Winter Music Conference, for Jay-j’s “Jay-j and friends party”.
With 2007 drawing to a close, Random Soul are moving into new territory having just been requested to mix and compile the next Hed Kandi “beach house” CD due for release early 2008. The duo will be making waves in the not to distant future.
