Famed in the Brisbane dance scene, DJ Angus tragically passed away in early February. The inthemix forum community has been paying their respect to his memory via THIS forum thread, so if you’ve ever danced to one of his sets be sure to check it out and offer your thoughts. To mark his memory, take a listen to this set, recorded at his last ever gig – Candee Flip in Brisbane on January 26th, 2008. Australia’s leading lady of hard dance, Bexta, was a close friend of Angus, and she passed on this message to inthemix:
“Angus was the first DJ I ever idolised. I remember going to see him play before I even started playing out, and I was so nervous even speaking to him. He was very influential at the beginning of my career, and was also incredibly supportive. We became good friends and I used to visit him and play chess, one of his fav past times. Angus left an indelible mark on my life, and my career, and he will be remember for his talent, and love for music.”

Angus played at my rave boat 93' Gold Coast and rocked the boat partee and the tunnel club was off the hook with ming d too, respects!!!!! a qld dj legend. true. thanks for letting me mc with you at the beat and other underground venues on the gold coast.
