Mike Jules began DJing before he finished high-school, starting off with a strong hip-hop influence, but soon falling in love with classic, funky house music, and started playing around the cosy clubs and bars of Melbourne soon afterwards. A couple of years later he met a group of friends who introduced him to techno. The technological aspects of this genre, and its machine-like vibe has since made a major effect on Mike’s musical style and he began to implement it into his productions and DJ sets. As of today Mike’s CV is quite impressive. From staging his own parties in some of Melbourne’s premier clubs, bars, even at the beach, and DJing interstate, he has also co-produced a variety of funky tracks, remixed Aussie artists, and played along-side some prominent international artists from both house music and techno alike, all while keeping a modest profile away from the lime light. Mike’s DJ style brings together all of his earlier influences – from jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock, house and techno, fusing together a fresh and exciting set every time he plays.
