akay47 who resides in Brisbane, is one of PNG’s premier DJs. akay started as a house DJ in 2001 and moved to RnB and hip hop in 2003 after gaining a resident DJ spot at one of Brisbane’s long standing clubs – The Empire @ Fortitude Valley. Spinning both CDs and vinyl, akay gets special attention for his seamless, artistic and smooth transitional style. His sound is an fun and booty shaking blend of hip hop, RnB, reggae beats and big club anthems fused together to create an uplifting energy. Each performance is unique as akay’s talent for connecting with the dance floor changes with each venue. He does, however, maintain consistency through his successful objective of delivering a “fun, phat, but playful energy” throughout each performance.
