Every once in a while a new producer seems to smash their way through into the big time. That’s the way it’s happening with Riva Starr and his sneak-in-and-blow-the-place-up approach. His influence come from blogs, wild after parties, music that works for the kids as well as the cool ubercoolische Europeans. Riva Starr seems to have sprung onto the scene fully formed, but in reality he has been hard at work for years making a name for himself as his alter ego, breakbeat superstar, Madox. Drawing on Brazilian and Latin rhythms, Riva Starr plunders the best in nu-rave, batty bass beeping, burping synth lines to create a dirty, messy dancefloor affair. With releases currently available on Ubercool Frontroom and Dirtybird, more will soon follow on Southern Fried and Get Physical’s Kindish Records.
