When most of us are contemplating which direction to go in life, a 21 year old DJ/Producer firmly etched his worth in stone in the wonderful world of electronic dance music in such a way most can dream of in their entire career. Ranked the #1 DJ in Australia, productions signed to the #1 DJ in the world Armin Van Buuren’s record label, Armada and being play listed by artists such as Above & Beyond and Markus Shultz has become all in a days work for Tyson Illingworth. As for the weekends, he’s hard at work in the clubs, headlining premium events and supporting artists like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk.

Still faithfully holding his residency at Family today his sets are supported by a legion of fans on Friday night that embrace tyDi’s refusal to be pigeon-holed as a one genre DJ and artist as he intelligently constructs sets consisting of dance music from all walks of life. Although underground productions and progressive tunes are well within his mixed bag of tricks, it would be his ability to surface quality cutting edge music that consistently won the crowds over and attracted interest from labels left right and centre.

On the production front, tyDi is hard at work in the studio constantly, both electronically and on the live tip working with a wide arrangement of artists and producers. tyDi has been remixed by and has remixed artists including production wizards such as Valentino Kanzyani, Andy Moor, Adam K & Soha and Tom Neville just to name a few. As for tyDi originals, well it’s quite an achievement to be able to say that you have productions signed to the #1 DJ in the World – Armin Van Buuren’s very own label, Armada. ‘Meet me in Kyoto’ and ‘Kopi Susu’ were hammered at clubs and festivals across the world by heavyweight support.

His most recent production ‘Russia’ yet to be released was dropped at Sensation White to 40,000 punters and has been rated as one of the trance tunes of the moment. His productions are regularly play listed by artists such as, Above & Beyond and Markus Shultz with his tracks appearing on a reputable amount of compilations in such a short time. To add credit to his wide array of talents tyDi has already begun work for multi media including Film, TV and Video Games which will feature both soundtrack and sound effect production.

Hands down to you Tyson - Its about time the world showed respect to Aussie talent. And how glad I am that Aust's #1 DJ plays Trance and not Electro!
