With an approach and attitude that is slightly different to most, Paul Woolford has established himself as one of the most original dj/producer/remixers that house music has exposed in recent times.
After spending his youth collecting equipment and teaching himself how to produce, initial releases were made, but the real breakthrough came with the Bobby Peru project for 20/20 Vision, and in February 2000, the release of the LP “Death Of A Player”. This put Paul firmly on the map with both the dance music media and with a far wider range of djs, simultaneously provoking a huge amount of label interest & remix work.
Subsequent releases and mixes have made fans of his production from a wide range of djs from across the board including Laurent Garnier, Andrew Weatherall, Danny Tenaglia, Ricardo Villalobos, Francois Kevorkian, DJ Hell, Sven Vath, Pete Tong, Derrick Carter, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Paul Daley (Leftfield), John Digweed, Danny Howells, Erol Alkan, Layo & Bushwacka, Ivan Smagghe, Nic Fanciulli, Slam, Ralph Lawson… and many more.
Paul Woolford finishes up his Australian tour this weekend:
Jan 30 – Empire, Brisbane
Jan 31 – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
