Gabriel Gilmour’s love of mixing began a few years ago when he was lent a pair of turntables from a mate. He started raiding the $5 vinyl bins at Landspeed in Canberra, and mixing quickly came his major hobby. After saving up he bought his own pair of turntables and eventually a pair of CDJs, and it wasn’t long before he was mixing every day.

In 2008 Gabriel make his club debut at the Pang! DJ Competition, with his performance scoring him a place in the finals. Later that year Gabriel secured a residency at the llik llik llik parties at Transit run by the infamous LollyGag lads. On top of this residency, Gabriel DJ’s at the various clubs and club nights around Canberra where he is able to play his diverse sound, which ranges from tribal tech-house to minimal and driving techno.

Just a year after his club debut, Gabriel has supported Anthony Pappa, John Selway, PQM, Morgan Page, King Unique, Dave Pham, Gavin Keitel and Sam McEwin, with many more to come in 2009. Hope you enjoy this half-hour techno mix which showcases the more tribal sounds from Gabriel’s collection.
