Pete Smith has traversed the eastern coast of Australia to accumulate an incredible wealth of experience in the music industry. With an understanding of the inner operations of and marketing in record labels from working at then music superstore Brash’s, Pete is especially at home in the radio booth having cut his teeth on radio stations from the age of 16; working his way up from Melbourne’s HITZ FM through to WILD FM, river94.9 and finally the peak of Dance music’s mecca of the airwaves, Ministry of Sound Radio.
As the first DJ to perform on the green of Suncorp Stadium, Pete certainly knows how to handle a crowd and maintain the ideal ambience. He performs to crowded dancefloors every week as a resident of Queensland’s leading nightclub, The Met and has been especially thrust into the limelight as music director, producer, and DJ for Ministry of Sound Radio; marking Pete as a true stalwart and unsung hero in the industry. Whether scripting, DJing or producing in a radio station or performing on the stage behind turntables or CDJs, Pete Smith remains the ultimate soundscape engineer
Pete put together this mix especially for Brisbane superclub The Met’s recently 2nd birthday. Happy birthday to The Met, from all your friends at inthemix!
