The latest hype act in the Mad Decent / Hollertronix stable, DJ Sega has a story that extends beyond the ideal of Diplo’s latest prodigy – an act whose release schedule, blog scatter and DJ skills are giving the establishment a shake on the East Coast of America… and beyond.

Sega’s father, DJ Brother Rob, raised him on classic soul, and his obsession with music grew from there. Today, at just 20 years of age, he trades in the triumvirate of Baltimore, Jersey and Philly club music / party sounds, holding down residencies at Jamz Roller Skating Center on Fridays and Pinnacle on Sundays, while touring regularly interstate.

Alongside 50 blog posts (at the time of writing), and a slew of upcoming twelves, Sega’s original cuts and remixes already appear on such releases as Hollertronix # 8 (Mad Decent), The Brick Bandits EP (Ol’ Head Records), Blow Your Head (Mad Decent), Ghetto Pass EP (T&A), Id Engager (Mad Decent), Letter and From God To Man (Best Recordings).

Catch DJ Sega as he continues his Australian tour this weekend:

Thu 28th May – La La Land, Byron Bay
Fri 29th May – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
Sat 30th May – The Espy, Melbourne
