Two of the US club scene’s freshest names will hit Australian clubs in late May, playing solo and side-by-side dates across the country. If you’re not accustomed to the names DJ Ayres or Nick Catchdubs it’s time to get familiar.

Nick Catchdubs

Over the past five years, Nick has rocked spots around the globe armed with unassuming charm and a signature mix of hip-hop, electro, dancehall, rock and more, with an emphasis on new music. In the process, he’s made a name for himself as a top-notch party DJ and one of the most diverse and enthusiastic selectors in todays scene, equally at home opening sold-out shows for the likes of the Clipse, MIA and Rihanna, banging it out between indie bands at the SXSW and CMJ festivals, or raving past dawn with Sinden and other new-school club wizards.

DJ Ayres

Originally from Mississippi, DJ Ayres got his start in upstate New York spinning hip-hop on college radio and at parties. He is known for playing a wild range of music, from rap to house, bass, reggae, rock-n-roll and classics. On top of promoting and DJing at The Rub, Ayres rocks parties all over the US and releases a new best-selling mix CD every month. His party The Rub is widely recognised as the best monthly club night in New York City, and by 2004 the word was out. An article in The New York Times about DJ Ayres, Danger Mouse and Hollertronix said DJ Ayres “has quietly become one of New York’s best mixtape D.J.’s.”
