Armed with Ableton, a Mac laptop, his incredible aural capabilities and his superb visual editing skills, Brooka has broken into the electronic dance consciousness as one of the country’s most unique DJs.

As a visual editor of promotional and corporate footage thanks to studying in one of New York’s finest film schools, Brooka has expanded his editing skills to include the medium of sound. For Brooka, music is about timing and rhythm. His abiding love for music is born from the powerful emotions music can produce, and thus Brooka’s sets never fail to elicit an emotive response where his sets are aurally designed to draw out the listener’s emotions and trigger a memory. His love for music was first implanted in his teenage years when he found himself behind the drumkit. The metrical teachings of this rhythmic instrument became ingrained into his musical psyche, until his direction in music vastly took an about turn when the beats and melodies of Markus Schulz entered his world. Music then became an all encompassing obsession, as he bypassed CDJs for the symphonic environment of Ableton and a Mac Laptop.

With an extraordinary ear tuned to immediately recognise a fine melody, Brooka scours the global digital world for the freshest tracks – the huge tunes that still manage to go under the radar – to then release them set in a beautifully mastered aural display. He comes to the music table as if it were a puzzle, piecing all the musical aspects together as on an editing timeline and produce a seamless musical flow. His distinctive digital sets are first initiated through a video invitation, where Brooka painstakingly applies stunning visuals to an amazing sound template. His sets are then presented with masterly tunes enclosed within the progressive matrix of trance and house; taking the listener on an incredible journey through pristine layers of exquisite music lines, incredible melodies and resonating digital basslines. With a path destined for the digital airwaves of DanceNode as the new resident DJ, Brooka stands out, taking the humble DJ set beyond the norm and into the world as an impressive visual and aural experience.
