With barely a chance to take a breathe after the quality that was the recent Beck’s Berlin Sessions events across the country, news just in is that it will be back in November with a tour commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. “Inspiration Through Unification” is the theme, and once again a cracking lineup has been pulled together that includes Âme, Benji Frohlich and Move D.

Since its construction in the 1960s, the Berlin Wall was as a physical symbol of the ‘Iron Curtain; that separated Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc, with the fall of the wall on 9th November in 1989 heralding a new beginning for Berlin. A city that was once a symbol of separation was reborn as a source of creative inspiration for the rest of the world, developing an unrivalled electronic music underground and this November’s Beck’s Berlin Sessions tour will celebrate 20 years of inspiration through music, art, design and cultural innovation.

Benji Frohlich, co-founder of the Permanent Vacation label, is responsible for showcasing the early work of an ensemble of disco heavyweights like Aeroplane, Holy Ghost!, Lindstrøm, Hercules & Love Affair and Todd Terje since starting in 2006. Expect a divine concoction of balearic disco and deep house.
