It’s been a pretty incredible last 12 months for The Aston Shuffle. As well as rocking a few thousand punters on Bondi Beach for New Year’s Eve with David Guetta and launching a stonkingly fresh live show that blends expansive visuals with live instrumentation and performance, The Canberra boys also released their debut artist album 17 Past Midnight through Ministry Of Sound offshoot Downright with singles like Your Love and Start Again getting thrashed in clubs and on radios.

Pretty big stuff, right? It is, and it all kicked off 12 months ago when the duo of Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove stole show at 2010’s inthemix50, taking out title as Australia’s #1 DJs in our annual inthemix Awards countdown.

With the inthemix Awards now rearing their head again for 2011 we thought we’d get back in touch with the reigning champs to look back on their big year in the hot seat as Australia’s #1 DJs. The lads took some time out from mixing their weekly new music show on triple j, Friday Night Shuffle which is another feather in their cap, to revisit the last 12 months in this exclusive mix.
