With the She Can DJ final approaching on Wednesday 14 September, we’re entering the final stretch of our ITM-FM series. Next in line to show us what she’s made of is Sydney floor-filler Alison Wonderland, with a mix she originally put together for FBi Radio.

“I’m a bit different from the rest of the people here,” Alison says of her fellow She Can DJ finalists. “I play a mix of indie, hip hop and a bit of dance as well. I don’t discriminate between age or genre. I just play what I like. This mix ranges from Beastie Boys’ Make Some Noise to Holy Ghost! to The Knife to Poolside. I do pretty quick mixes; in and out of each chorus.”

If you frequent the likes of Sosueme and Falcona Fridays, you’ll be familiar with how Alison Wonderland does her thing. Her straight-up party style has also worked, err, wonders at festivals like Good Vibrations, Field Day, Parklife and Splendour In The Grass.

On top of all that, Alison hit the road in winter with the other Sosueme residents Hansom and Hobo for a raucous East Coast tour, taking their ‘99% genre free’ ethos to a string of willing dancefloors. Strap yourself in for this one – it’s a whole lot of fun.
