My first production - still not 100% happy with it but wanted to get some feedback before I make more changes and I thought this would be a good place. I have based it on an old Pennywise track and reproduced all sounds except for a couple of vocal samples:

ah pennywise is an old favorite, so had to listen!

It sounds good Jimps, although I didn't like the squeaky vocal bit in the middle, think it would be better without it.
it possibly needs more laser sounds and shotgun blasts

either way, I liked it, you definately need to do more pennywise remixes :thumb:

A live set from me that was a real segue style mix between a downtempo and chilled house set (when things where just kickin' off) and the more commercial party bangers that i finished the night with.

Yeah, I only did it for this promo. I guess it's not really THAT bad considering how much more preperation goes into a set using beat warped tracks. I use TT's tho so I still touch the pitch quite a lot. Main difference is I just bring it back to 0 and the little light comes up telling me its at the same speed. My mix in my sig is all done without warped tracks, just if your wondering :P

one of my favourite mixes just because its fun, energetic and has a hard dance feel to it. The mix is entirely recorded from vinyl and i apologise in advance for the slightly lower sound quality as didnt record this off a proper sound card.

Just in time for a womp-tastik summer, with another newie out in a week or so on Anabatic, comes the first batch of weekend booty-goodness, ready to drop. Ive road-tested these joints, and can say that the mix and rawer jack-aesthetic certainly make them fairly solid tools for housity-boom-bap-bounce rooms. Just in time for a womp-tastik summer, with another newie out in a week or so on Anabatic, comes the first batch of weekend booty-goodness, ready to drop. Ive road-tested these joints, and can say that the mix and rawer jack-aesthetic certainly make them fairly solid tools for housity-boom-bap-bounce rooms. Another massive 2hrs set - this month I feature a guest mix by Brisbane's own Angus Gibbins. The first hour is mixed by me brings you a thumping bassline with dark overtones, a solid session of vocal trance in the middle, finishing off with some energetic new trance favourites.

Angus Gibbins lays down a beautifully melodic and uplifting set and shows us all why he's one of Brisbane's best up and coming names in trance. His massive set ends in one of the most beautiful tracks I've heard.

Trance fans are a notoriously passionate bunch, but it’s hard to imagine a more passionate trance fanatic than Angus Gibbins. And with his upbringing it’s hardly surprising that he eats, breathes and sleeps hands-in-the-air synth melodies – while most children of the 90s would have been chuffed if their parents were cool enough to be into Hendrix, Zeppelin and Floyd, Angus’ father brought him up on a steady diet of Sasha, Digweed and Global Underground compilations. It’s little wonder that once he was old enough to rebel against trumpet and French horn lessons at high school he invested in turntables and developed a nasty vinyl addiction.

It was the pure emotion of trance that captured Angus in those early days of dance music love, and it’s an obsession which drives him to this day – he’s widely considered the most knowledgeable trance DJ in his home town of Brisbane, renowned for his uncanny ability to trainspot a trance anthem from 20 paces. This knowledge also serves him well behind the decks, with his versatility one of his most valuable assets. Deep and melodic progressive, uplifting reach-for-the-lasers specials or dark, dirty and driving tech monsters – Angus’ ability to progress through these sounds over the course of a set have seen him slowly but surely progress through the ranks of Brisbane DJs since relocating there from the Sunshine Coast in 2005.

A smashing guest slot in the main room for Fridays @ Family – the Brisbane superclub’s flagship event – in 2006 was the breakthrough set Angus had been working for, and from there he established himself as a staple booking for Brisbane’s club, rave and outdoor party scene. He’s since rocked events like Gatecrasher, Transmission, Q-Dance and Secret Sessions, sharing the stage with everyone from ATB, Nick Sentience, 4Strings and Vibrasphere at the trance end of the spectrum to hard dance acts like Bas & Ram, Donkey Rollers and The Prophet.. Guest appearances for radio programs like Global Elements, Crucial Cutz and Harder Education followed along with a brief stint hosting a program on krankydigital.com, soon to be followed by another program of his own which is currently in the pipeline.

Angus’ crowning achievement to date is his stellar afternoon slot at Brisbane’s inaugural Global Gathering festival. “Angus Gibbins looks like he's having more fun than the entire dancefloor gathered in front of him on the Godskitchen stage combined, and that's some achievement given the love being sent back in his direction,” said Time Off magazine of a set which was considered to be one of the finest of the festival, local or international.

It seems nearly a decade of living off toast and two-minute noodles in support of his habit is finally paying off for Angus Gibbins, and 2009 should see him waving the flag for his beloved trance far beyond the dancefloors of Brisbane.

That's better, hooked me straight away.

As for the mix i really enjoyed it, great deep n dark dub with a fucking cool Dtown twist.

Im still biased towards cd/turntable mixes but having said that this was layered nicely with a great dark vibe.
