View Full Version : Clubbing in Glenelg
Just interested to see if anyone would head to glenelg instead of the city for a big night out if there was a suitable venue with nice tunes.
The same goes for a quiet night at a place with chilled house beats.... Or do you need different options that only the city can offer
Would definetly go to the Bay for a nice, chilled out, "housey" evening ... the Plush Lounge was good for that (not sure now with new owners) :)
have tried a few different venues to put on a night without success; plush, chalkers, even hogs breath! could get a gig at the wine bar but if you are male will be harrassed by the manager (also male)
did anyone attend the glenelg beach party (deep prog + sand + palm trees) ; would you be interested in another similar night at a public venue?

apparently there are international dj's in glenelg every wednesday night minus the sand ;)
yeah i know about trying to put on nights in glenelg - i organised a night at hogs breath recently only to have the owner back down hours before X was due to start. Its just that there is a venue on jetty road up for sale that offers potential. Its upstairs, very big and you go there to play pool. But once sold it doesnt have to be a pool hall.
Yeah i was at the beach party and would love to attend any similar sort of night anywhere. The town hall wine bar world be a good venue (if maybe a tad small), however if a party could start at say 5 in the evening - it would be a great view wacthing the sunset. Problem being this venue may be a tad expensive from what i have so far discovered
Yes, I went to that Glenelg Beach Party and it rocked!!! Would definetly go to something like that put on at a public venue ...
Andrew: I bet you happen to be one of those IDJ's, eh ... so is my boy! :)

breakers?... is that the pool hall in glenelg??
International DJ Practice is all about a bunch of cool Adelaide boys who get together for a session each Wednesday night. They CALL themselves international, but respectively, they are each really good and are too cool for school :)
It is held where the beach party was "minus the sand" ;o)
I heard the cool adelaide boys are playing @ savy's this sunday night?? are you going?
I also heard IDJ are planning a colossal outdoor music festival in the far north of sa for the total eclipse in December....stay tuned
Dish; your speakers have not recovered well from the beach party, totally !@#$%^!
apparently X is calling in the doctor this weekend, good luck
yeah pity about the speakers, but all for a good cause hey!
This total eclipse thing sounds more than interesting. Am very interested.
No not breakers - chalkers and they currently have an entertainmnet lic license - one of the few (if only) in glenelg apart from the grand. Now all we need is someone with money to set up a place there that will make glenelg an attractive place to go out.
Oh milne - who is playing sun night?

Dish it is not the last noise they will make, it is true one is !@#%$^& but I am having a gynecologist (truly!!) look at them over the week end. The man makes HIFI speakers as a side interest, they start @ $2000 a pair, he is confident they will rise from the dead (IDJ ressurection?), if not it is me that will be cross this easter
As for clubbing in the bay, too many cosy old residents and a council that openly declares clubbing is not part of the plan will be your major problem. eg a 10 year battle to close lennies waged by retirees who have time to kill and many early nights. In the end the lawyering costs to defend themselves made the descision.
there will be only one solar eclipse in australia worth viewing in your lifetime, spend it with friends!!
Hey Mr Milne, we'll be there on Sunday :) Invisible Jim was supposed to be playing at Savvy but
... The total eclipse party sounds wicked too.
oops ,,, but I don't think he is anymore??
is victors still there?
i couldnt believe the size of that place when i was there 10 years ago
and the fucking that was going on
