whatever happened to some of adelaide's best dj's

anyone heard what happened to the likes of uzi,pma, aquila, lorien and the like?

last time i saw gary, he was mainly mixing cd's and more for himself than playing anywhere i think he is still in SA but can't say the same for the others.

and if i ever organised a party i'd pay large money to see pma play again, one of the smoothest mixers i've ever heard

Uzi moved back to Adelaide when he left Foxtel in Sydney a couple of years ago!

Aquila = Living in NZ. Academic in environmental science after gaining his PhD.

Lorien = I believe living in Sydney according to Quest.

PMA = Gave up DJing due to problems with hearing loss. Whereabouts unknown, I'd guess still in Adelaide.

Marc PMA is still in Adelaide, last time I caught up with him. Damn shame the hearing thing ended his DJing, he would have slayed everyone in the genre's he was into.

A few of us have migrated up north... Patrick Cronin aka P-Voy is up here but rarely DJing. Dave's doing a little bit here and there, same goes for me - a little bit here and there.

Yeah Groove Armada was kool. As for DJing, I'm doing regular Saturdays a V-Bar on Liverpool St in the City. The night's called Mofonic and also has Blaze, Mr Tsang and Mylk on the bill plus regular guests. Doing some other bits and pieces also - Funk Trust, Get Down, plus some one off parties. Actually trying to finally get my label off the ground - Urban Logic. Hoping to have the first release out by July!

I think Mr Shanti's night is "Jack" at Mojo West (Beans Bar) - every Saturday with him, Cam and possibly someone else on the wheels of steel.

By the way you know Pat's made the move to Melburn?

I'm playing live as often as I can here in Sydney... but... being into techno, means it's not that often! ...but I seem to have played on average a couple of times every month... which is ok. I'd like to get out DJing more as well... have been DJing, doing my Pulseradio internet readio show every Monday since May 2000 as well... happy to keep it all on/at an 'underground' level anyway...

Tony who was the doorman at Cargo now runs Dough Boy at Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction.
Amelia who was the door girl at Cargo for years also lives up here.
MC Say and Michael from Bliss are still up here.

Wayne the drummer in Bliss is still up here in Sydney too... I don't see the Bliss guys much about anymore. I think Michael is probably the only one still active with music, he's played out live with Zack (Bliss bassplayer) at quite a few underground doof kinda parties... doing trip-hop/breaks/electro kinda stuff last I heard, think they were using 'stick-shift' as their name...

And... don't forget Mr Lunacy (Coast FM) Adelaide, Heath DJ !mpact as well... He's been up here for quite a while too, he does a Pulseradio show every Friday night 'Lunacy' ...Musically he's moved from Drum'N'Bass to Techno, to Progressive to Nu-Skool-Breakz... Listening to his show at this very moment actually... He's played out here and there... DJ Chris V is another ex-Adelaide one up here, but not DJing much at all though... working hard... like we all do...
