Hey there.

Just wonderin what all you Canberians think about Canberia? Is it totally Canberian like? What's it like having John Howard as a premier? Do you masturbate more than any other city? Why haven't you moved? What's the weather like? General stuff.

Tyson, are you trying to get your stats up or are you seriously concerned with the singular mating habits of the Australian province that is convinced that a number plate can only ever start with a "Y"?

Clearly they haven't moved because of Sydney freaks like you :)

I will admit that is the main reason I haven't moved from Sydney... he he he

I went to Canberra in year 6 on a school tour. We went to the War Memorial, Parliament House, Science Museum thingy, we saw "Dave" starring Kevin Kline at the cinema, and stayed at the Eagle Hawk Hill Resort Motel... heaven on earth :)

I would like to know what there is to do, I think that there is a lot of promise in a place so under developed. I think Canberra will be the new Perth, that's my prediction, you watch...

as another ex-canberran, i thought id voice my opinion. I lived there for 6 years before waking up and moving to brisbane - a very wise decision. From my experience with canberra, and going out, is that everyone is looking for a fight. Go anywhere in civic and there will be an army of wogs/asians/aussies wanting to pick anyone who looks the wrong way at them. Maybe thats all they have to amuse themselves - who knows. Maybe the whole scene (if there is one) there has changed over the past few years...who knows. Maybe someone else can comment. Thats my two cents worth, doesnt really make any sense, but thats the canberran coming out in me......

agreed percy ... i've been in and seen so many fights in civic ... but i think that's because when i was in canberra i was involved in a whole different scene. the dance scene in canberra was pretty much limited to Heaven, and i think ppl got into drinkin and other subs excluding e

i dunno. maybe my memories are jaded by the armies of hottedup-excel-driving-tommy-hilfilger-wearin-gininderra-college kids who so often frequent the streets of civic ...

then there's the adfa crew (nothin against them, there's just a few bad apples in there) ....

i miss the berra but the move was the best thing i ever did

Wow! I used to live in Orange before I moved to Canberra, and also did the whole 'Yr 6 field trip thing' (plus stayed at Eagle Hawk!). Funtastic....so many memories.

Canberra is not the new Perth, it's just lil' old Canberra. Not that it's little, just ignored. The scene here is strong (apart from the regular bitch fights that are a part of every dance scene in Oz), although the demise of Heaven did set things back for a while. However, the boom at Habana, Lot 33, Fang, the Twisted parties, Chill, Any Given Sunday, Frenetic...and so on has made people realise one club does not make a dance community.

Canberra's scene is also a tad more, shall i say, relaxed? No one's in much of a hurry, and although 'raves' aren't as prominent, there's still a great vibe. We get a lot of good interstate and O/S acts (Lee from the Plump DJ's, Steve Lawler soon, Nick Warren soon -for the 2nd time in 3 yrs i might add - , Pappa, Adam Freeland, Hixxy, Slipmatt, Ferry Corsten, Binary Finary...and more!) as well, so Sydney and Melbourne readers should consider coming down/up to experience a Canberra night out.

Yeah, Canberra rocks....I actually haven't ventured out into Civic for a big one for a while now (Yes, it can be done). There are heaps of great parties in Canberra - just come along with an open mind, a good vibe and you 'll have a great time.

p.s. Cheesy, but true!

I miss the seasons in Canberra.

**sigh** < lil_jazz gets all nostalgic>

Canberra has real seasons. Autumn is the best. Primarily for the decidious trees (!! yeah, yeah!! Tyson !!) which shed their leaves. Fkn siiiiic to jump in mate. And they're the absolute BEST of colours.

I also miss my bestest friend Denee, who's from Canberra. She ROCKS!!

Art Gallery for Jackson Pollocks Blue Poles is also a personal fave.
