Hey Adelaide,
My little bro, mike callander, played at Adventjah on the weekend, did anyone catch his set? How was the party overall?
I hear that St Pauls is a wicked venue, does it get used for parties a lot?

Didn't catch your bro, but fierce didnt drop a beat in three hours. Loving drumnbass arena all night. Fairly good atmosphere all over, in my brief forays into nrg people looked fired up, and I had a good night all up. Rush afterwards was a little quiet, especially drumnbass, but enjoyable still. Especially massage chairs, oh how i needed those after my night.

Adventjah was great!
Daniel Ro - enjoyed him much more then I thought I would
Adam Beyer - mixing a bit loose in places but track selection brilliant & overall was awesome
Fierce - saw 11/2 hours of him after Beyer finished but by that stage the LOOOONG weekend had caught up with me and wasn't in a dancing mood any more. He was excellent though. Very tight.
Kevin Energy - an anti-climax after Beyer. Highlighted why techno has so much soul & groove and (to me) hard house is souless.
I didn't see Callander but have heard a lot of good things about him from the Fokus crew and Melbourne techno fans in general. Is that how you spell the surname? I guess you'd know but it means they got it wrong on the Adventjah flyer! heh heh
Overall, I'd say the party was good. About 3/4 full by my estimates which wasn't too bad considering Pppa was on thursday & Twice as Nice on Friday.
Is St Pauls used often?
Is St Paul catholic? ;)
Beeekayz,
Kevin Energy's set had the place rocking more than any other part of the night.
His skills were impecable (even though you could hardly see him as he was surrounded by kids dancing on the steps)
To say it was an anti-climax is just a personal thing for you i guess (maybe cause you doon't like his music) but as for looking at it from a perspective of the place at the time, Kev Energy played the best set by far upstairs. Daniel Ro played a great set also and got the place fired up (said to us that Adelaide was the best crowd he has ever played to)
Even though I don't follow much techno, I thought Adam Beyer was also great and his track selection was first class.
I know many people dislike having techno, then hard house, back to techno etc. and most parties that have this format seem to lose the vibe, but Adventjah certainly didn't suffer from this.
I didn't catch any of Fierce in the DnB room but heard it was good.
A good lineup of DJ's (even though some of us didn't get to play), and many good shows over Easter proved that Adelaide still has got what it takes

Mr S: I couldn't agree with you more.
To say it was an anti-climax was a personal point of view and I did put the words "to me" in brackets.
I am not saying that technically he was anything but brilliant, I just simply do not enjoy the hard house/NRG sound. Although I did really enjoy Ro's set so go figure.
So..just so there is no misunderstanding, Energy's set was a personal anti-climax, but from the small amount of time I spet in the main room after Beyer's set, Energy seemed to be the most enjoyed DJ for the majority of people there :)

I watched all of Fierce "He was excellent... Very tight." says it all in Beekayz words. John Doe at the end, um I think he was drunk at the wheels (literally, after a birthday bash), needed a kick start by Patch "PRESS THE GREEN ONE!". Funny stuff. Was a great night, couldn't get away from the D&B room especially when the fog machine was working overtime, but upstairs was absolutely pumping!
Check out the pics, should be some new ones after Yancey's.

You know you've made it on ITM when you get quoted....twice! ;)
I was glad to be room hopping all night as for once both rooms had their high moments, i've got the proof on video...
As for St Pauls being a venue, it's great but i would like to see a gig that uses the upstairs space there in a new way... being involed in a few shows there myself i know thats a hard one to ask... but it's still a f$#ken great place to party!
