Scotch/Whiskey - Fave brands: Glen Fiddich, Glen Livet, Dimple, Chivas Regal, Bushmills.
Don't be fooled by Johnny Walker, it's crarp.
Absinthe is quite nice too. The Pernod one aint too bad for a common one, but if ya can find it by Versinthe (sp?) from France or my favourite, Sebors from Czech.
Beer is also mad.

When the family first had their finladia vodka slurpees... oh.. I was in love
But then they changed flavours n it went downhill.
I will usually drink Vodka n Raspberry.

Beer = most Tooheys (agreed on the extra dry ... but not Pils ick), Coopers, Asahi, Carona, Cascade, Boags.
Wine .. red ... wines are fun to explore ... there's always something different or new to try. And i find just the simple act of sharing a quality bottle of wine (or 2) with some one (especially with a good meal) pretty damn satisfying
spirits ... umm i do like Moscow Mules .. but when the weather heats up i don't find many things more enojyable than a Bombay Sapphire gin n tonic. In winter, Frangelico, Baileys, Yeay Grrr My Stir. And when i want to get fired up .. double vodka n red bull ;D
I want to try more cocktails. I've got all the cocktail gear at home.. and never use it.
Hmmm maybe I should have a cocktail party.

Mojitos
Straight up. I have to say though I much prefer a vodka mojito to a bacardi/that brazilian spirit one. I make vodka mojito's at home and they are the shit.
give me a 42 below mohito on a hot day and I'll  you
Other awesome drinks: Jaeger bombs! (for getting hardcore trashed try doing 5 in a row!) and a cocktail that I think's called a red devil (1/2 highball glass full of champagne, +1 shot of vodka +1 shot of chambord and top with redbull. Delicious and gets you hell trashed.) An all conditions green is also awesome for getting mega boozed. (1 shot green absinthe 1 shot green midori 1 shot green chartreuse, fill with kiwi fruit juice).

My favourite drink is Rakija though Ive cut back drinking any alcohol to almost null... Rakija is an eastern european brandy of sorts that is best described by its alternative uses. For instance... aftershave or a rubbing lotion for tired muscles. As unwholesome as that might sound, good Rakija tastes crisp and delicious and obviously packs a punch. Slivavica Rakija is made from plums (eg, "slivavica" is serbo-croatian for "plum") and is my favourite.
Sadly all but impossible to buy locally in any decent capacity, so our supply as it were comes from friends returning from holidays in the region. Its nothing too outlandish but definately my favourite alcoholic drink, though poses many problems with our good friends at customs.

Although I haven't been there in ages Jorge is / was my favourite cocktail place, though lately they have been at home. 1 good friend used to work in a bar and is happy to play bar girl at a party so long as no one else enters the kitchen. 1 The friendly Cossack: Absolut Vanilla + Kahlua + Baileys + Fangelico + dash o milk in a tall glass. (I came up with that one or so I'd like to think. Well the name anyway) ;)
2 Vodka Lemon Lime.
3 Good scotch, neat or with v little ice.
4 Beer: Becks, Boags, Corona, Hoegarden, then in no particular order Heiny, Stella, 1664 or whatever.
5 Chambord with crushed lime & soda or lemonade if I'm feelin like a sweet toof.
6 Vodka with apple or cranberry juice, or both.
7 Long Island if they can make it well.
Then it's depending on the occasion.
A good mojito on a warm day is priceless.
A nice red with dinner, a crisp white with lunch.
To get smashed: Nothing beats quality Absynthe. It'll catapult you into a different world altogether.
Ditto for the family special your east european relloes pull out whenever you visit the continent. Peaches, plums whatever they brew it out of. It'll drop you like Mike Tyson.
Canadian Club & Jaegermeister as well are apt at sending one sideways.
If in the mood however nothing beats a nice cocktail or martini from the places that can do it well. Press, Sunbar & Lychee (Soma & Bowery) get honourable mentions.

1 The friendly Cossack: Absolut Vanilla + Kahlua + Baileys + Fangelico + dash o milk in a tall glass. (I came up with that one or so I'd like to think. Well the name anyway) ;)
Awesome drink name. My cocktail names tend to revolve around robots and ninjas for some reason.
Gundam Blast:
2 shot good quality vodka
2 shot good quality white wine
4 full "garlic crushers" of ginger crushed into shaker
fill glass with chilled Cranberry juice and shake
serve in a frosted long wine glass
Meta Ninja Pants Rush:
2 shot butterscotch schnapps
1 shot of kahlua
1 shot good quality vodka
2 tablespoons of melted honey
light decorative sprinkle of cinnamon and 10 or so whole coffee beans.
The trick to this one, and yes it is all about aesthetics rather then amazing taste alone, is to serve it sparingly over ice, so the ice and coffee beans and cinnamon are the dominant feature. as such, the amount listed makes two drinks. whats the point? its fun and certainly goes well with those nights by the fireplace with a certain someone. (or something...)
Ditto for the family special your east european relloes pull out whenever you visit the continent.
Check a few posts up :) Rakija is my favourite drink. I still have a few litres of "domacija rakija" that is, well as the name suggests, home made. unlike all the others ive had this one is particularly harsh... it was made in Knin so we've got some suitable jokes as to why it tastes so bitter.

My favourite drink is pimms and ginger ale. The most refreshing choice on a hot summer's day
I also love Pimms & Gingerale... a most underrated spirit!
Custaro: Taita & I have just been on a Yarra Valley vineyard/winery tour and we tasted an amazing wooded sav blanc (it's not usually wooded) called Evolution from Helens Hill Estate. Very smooth indeed.
Me, i have a few favourites:
Vodka, (muddled) lime & soda
Amaretto, lime juice & soda water
Rosaritas (from the now defunct Main Squeeze); Like a Margarita, but made with rose-petal infused tequila, strawberries & the glass is ringed with sugar. Quite nice as i could never quite get my head around salty drinks ;) Quite being the operative word, there...
Pimms & Gingerale
I'll echo the sentiments regarding cointreau, lime & soda
I've been known to down a couple of absinth (with melted sugar) shots in my time
Plain grappa & lychee grappa
Various Wines: Sav Blanc, Chardonnay (best one i've tasted was Helens Hill Estate 2002 Chardonnay), some Pino Noir, Tokay, some fortified wines, De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis, and some champagne. Also, most of the wines from Springbrook Mountain Vineyard (Gold Coast Hinterland).
Espresso (long black) with a shot of Kahlua
A nice Port or Muscat for after dinner.
I'm also partial to having a shandy with my pa on xmas day :)
what lil sarah said.
followed by tequila/absinthe tabasco & lemon,
followed by double vodka lime & bitters.

Beer is evil, but yes Cider is YUMMY!! Better out of the tap though! What ever happened to scrumpys? Any ideas? I just stopped looking quite a while ago cos I kept on getting no's..
My favourites are anythign REally REALLY Sweeet. (though cider I like to drink draught(sp?)). So yes, starting the night with a shot of vodka in a glass full of straight red cordial is always a good thing :D
But for dinner or quiet times.. some sweet soft white or a port is always nice .. mmm chocolate port.. mmmm anything chocolate!!!
