Couldn't wait for Ch 9 to show the final season so i downloaded it off the internerd. Amazing. One of my faves of all time and i'm sorry that it's finished.

I won't spoil it but the final seasons have gotten more and more full on and contained less laughs, but the final season takes the cake. It's pretty traumatic I thought and the final episode was amazing. My g/f thought it was too OTT but i thought it was a perfect end to a perfect show.

Has anyone else been into this?

It was starting to suck a bit in season 4, but still one of the best shows ever made. How many eps in season 5?

(edit - ^^^^returned last week)

I thought last weeks opening ep was pretty good - I really liked the George cracking up flashbacks.

Poor Nate though - so messed up.

I fucking missed it! God damnit. Im trying to download the first episode of the fifth series, but its taking ages! The seconds ones on tonight so ive set it to tape and ill watch it after I can get my eyes on the first.

They certainly didnt give it the press it deserved here in australia. Thanks allot Channel 9! Hardly anyone knew it had already began! Grrrrrrr

Anyone see last night's ep? Man how sad was the opening scene!

Interesting scenes with Billy - you can tell he's gearing up for a major freakout.

Poor George :(

haha, yeah methinks Billy is going to go off his rocker soon.
There is a distinct feeling of tension building in this series- well more like some sort of awkardness, imo. With ruth about to crack with george and claire (cannot sympathise with her- what a bitch), billy, etc.
David is pissing me off no end, almost finding their child-finding efforts cringeworthy now.
But it will be a shame not to see this fantastic show on tv after this season. is by far the best show on the box in recent years.

God I find Ruth so annoying but the actress plays the part so well.

Oh man this season is getting deep. I think billy still has a chance to redeam himself cause you could tell in this ep that he was certainly thinking about improving himself again. I think Nate is obviously the main worry here. Definatly going to be a big finish to six feet under.

Its such a shame to think it will all be over in a few weeks but its better this way then it going on and turning into a stupid soap.

Great ep last night, my only criticism is there was a little too much of Ruth - I find her so annoying, but she does play the pathetic character to a tee.

Poor old Nate & Brenda, they're both so fucked up I can't see it ending well for them. Will Nate find solace with that other woman?

David & Keith's kids watching their gay porno was gold!

Series 5 is just amazing. Claire is the biggest c.unt in this series. Love it

I love how claire keeps oversharing about billy and stuff in her temp job. and how david is such a whiney biatch.

Bought the box set when I was in the UK. Season five is the shit, though the last episode some will either love it or hate it. One of the very few shows on TV that I can somewhat relate and emote with. The last few eps had me body shivering/tingling with it's honesty and truthfulness and humour.

Phenomenal TV that shows it can be every bit the artform that film is: potentially of course.

Season 1: 5/5
Season 2: 5/5
Season 3: 4.5/5
Season 4: 3.9/5
Season 5: 5/5

Will be sorely missed. Hang on I can watch it when I like. Yee haw.

i always thought the last season was a little bit basic for a six feet under watcher

the middle 3 seasons the show was nothing about death, instead it was about the characters personal lives, with the emphasis on what drives them, what they all want, all the useless things you face with life, it just happens that someone just dies in the beginning of the episode

also there were less fantasy sequences in seasons 3 and 4, if you have noticed in season 5 all the fantasy sequences are back

eg claire singing in her boring as bats.hit office job, david imagining hes a sailor, and ruth singing jane siberry's calling all angels

the pace of season 5 is also too fast, its the same pace of season 1, but the middle seasons of the show did not concentrate on a lot of stuff happening really quickly, its more like a little thing happening, then alot of stuff goes down before we find out the truth and everything implodes from that point on

another downside is theres very little humour, its a little giggle here and there, but nothing that gets me cackling like an idiot who drank too much red wine like the old days (stuff like: the show dinner scenes)

I'm so happy ch 9 pushed back last night's episode to 12:00 so they could show a group of slimy british gits talk about the A-Z of sex.

I just watched the last episode last night, my friends got seasons 1-5 box set and have been watching it whenever i could over the last few weeks.......

Its very emotional, I have not stopped thinking about it all day - so much to learn from and so much about life itself. I cried my eyes out......

I wish the show didnt have to end but i guess sitcoms are ending before their show turns to shyte.

Nate is hot...or was....

Agreed. What an amazing last episode for an amazing show. I bawled my eyes out and i hardly ever cry watching movies or TV.

I just wished it had ended at Nate's burial after they put him in and covered up the plot. The following scenes with Brenda were ugly and unnecessary IMO.

I thought this was the last ep at the time but on monday night caught the real last episode - too overdone for me. Over the top in it's positivity. The last 5 minutes with a look into the future was awful IMO.

Nate's funeral episode would've been the best ending to the series IMO - a bleak ending to a bleak show.

Okay, I just watched the final ep yesterday (had taped it) and thought it was really good. With Alan Ball back at the helm, all the writing and performances were top notch - especially Claire and Ruth, who I read described as 'the beating heart and soul of the show'. Her sadness broke my heart - brilliant acting.

Now, I missed the Nate funeral episode (will need to get the DVDs pronto) so can't comment on whether the final ep was better or not, but I think they needed to finally redeem Brenda after 5 years. I think they felt they owed something to her character, after the horrendous character arc she went on (her sleeping around with all those people - was so icky, very hard to like her after that - and then becoming a real whinger who I didn't want Nate to be with anyway).

I thought the final 5 minutes was quite lovely, gave a nice sense of closure (no reunion episodes for this show - thank god!) but that may have been enhanced by their use of Sia's Breathe Me over the top of it all. Anyway, my eyes were all cried out after the scenes with Ruth and Claire anyway and I was in no state to judge from there on in.

Made me happy, much in the way the Buffy finale did, as with both shows I had stopped watching it religiously for some time before they ended, but the finale wooed me back and reminded me why I loved the show so much to begin with.

I thought the pseudo futuristic clothes and whatnot were quite lame, I can see why they took everyone's stories to the end, thats what the show is about, but i dont think it was really welll done.
