wow, from the trailer, looks like the movie is not going to be a subtle endevour, actually it looks pretty over the top, mind you it is directed by ron howard, which normally means big, but geneally well done.
it does have jean reno in it as well, and he is awsome, so i might just see it for him

Looks like it could be interesting. Probably a sit back and switch off film but enjoyable none the less.

Shitty book, movie will be worse. Of course lots of people will like it, because they are stupid.

precisely
and its go Tom Hanks in it - reason enough to not watch
Will wait to make my mind up on this movie once I have seen it. Could be a flop but could be good as well. Time will tell.
Can't wait to see it.
I read the book and found it pretty interesting. Sure parts of the book were a bit stupid, but was very entertaining.

you havn't seen it yet. you're the stupid one

The book was fairly entertaining but not really worth all the fuss IMO.
For pete's sake though a Ron Howard sop-fest with Mr American Actor himself Tom Hanks and Amelie?? Maybe jean Reno can save it but I predict a stinker of biblical preportions.
The book was pretty crap but entertaining enough. I'm thinking the movie will be pretty similar.

I don't need to see it. I'm going on the rule that all movies are worse than the books they are based on.
The book was a piece of crap, so it follows the movie won't be fantastic either.
I don't see whats so stupid about that.
Why oh why would you put Tom Hanks in it!?

Why oh why would you put Tom Hanks in it!?
Not that I'm the world's biggest Tom Hanks fan (though I did have a Big fixation for a while there), but why oh why wouldn't you cast Tom Hanks in this role - a middle-aged, not terribly good looking guy... sounds like the role he was born to play. At least they didn't try pass of Matt Damon as a late 40s professor or something!
As for the tom Hanks/Audrey Tatou relationship, sure, it's not terribly believable, but that's how it was in the book - which let's face it is a pulpy thriller, and while it's not terribly well written, it's clearly got something going for it... though I guess I can see it might be a little beneath someone called "TheBrain" (that means you're really brainy, right?)! :p

on the money. whilst i don't like tom hanks, i think he was born to play this role.
now that he's served his purpoose, he can fade away :p
whilst Dan Brown's books are not literati genius, they are engaging, interesting and funny at times. i liked the da vinci code, and i also like angels and demons, deception point and digital fortress. so sue me, i think the man writes a good yarn. he is also quite clever at pointing out clues, and also linking his characters to things and people in the real world.
 i just watched the trailer. i love how they give away the very very end at the beginning of it... but you wouldn't get it if you haven't read the book.
it looks interesting. i think i will have to go see it, especially since ian mckellan is leigh. i think he will play that part brilliantly.

loved the book and judging by the trailer, the movie looks like it will do it justice.
but then again i thought this new harry potter movie was going to do the book justice after seeing the trailer......oh how wrong i was
i just wish tom hanks wasn't playing langdon that is so not how i pictured him, tom hanks has this ability to just remind me of his characters in "big" and "splash" at least once every performance

Anyone who is interested in the DaVinci Code should read The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail instead of consuming this plagiarised deep fried tripe. At least Holy Blood attempts to base it's deep fried goodness in fact.
yeah i will have to look at buying that i think, library doesnt have it...
i think as long as you know that the DV code is a story there is nothing wrong with enjoying it as such
Yeah, I just threw a tantrum when it came out and virtually no one in the media realised / pointed out what it was based on. :~(
There have been updated releases of Holy Blood, I must get a newer version for myself too.
My grandfather and many male members of my family are freemasons, I've always wante to know what the deal was with them but they never talk about it and kind of wont talk about it so a long time ago I looked into it myself and discovered a bit of this line of reasoning that way, it wasn't until I read the DV code hat I became more aware of other books of the same nature, I like the fact that more people are aware of this these alternate theories and I think for that reason that the book did some good.
Have you read angels and demons? Also a good book but pretty much the same as the code, his others are total crap I would tell people not to bother at all, they are so bad

There isn't really much to tell about the masons. It's just a bunch of blokes hanging out really. There are some rituals and such. But nothing outrageuosly bizzare or anything.
Theres a lot more to it than from what i can see but nothing bizarre, I wasn't looking for bizarre I was just looking for info
how do you know? are you one? do you know the seret handshake?
"Who controls the British Crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We doo, we doo."
Seriously though, if you're interested in alternatives to accepted Christian history, check out the books by Ahmed Osman. Mind blowing stuff... and it's convincing. Jesus = Tutankhamen. ;D
i'd like to be in a secret club and get to wear costumes and stuff

yep and yep.
I reckon the preview looks pretty cool and I'd be interested in seeing the movie to see how it compares to the book.
I liked the book because it prompted me to look more into the concepts put forward in the book (fiction or not) to decide for myself about it all - because its something that fascinates me.
It also prompted me to read Holy Blood Holy Grail. My grandfather was also a freemason and my parents recall a heated argument regarding the book Holy Blood Holy Grail when my dad tried to discuss it with him years ago.
