looking to buy digital camera

Since searching has been disabled, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right way. I'm about to head to Vietnam in a few weeks and I wanted to pick myself up decentish :lol: digital camera. I'm looking to spend about $300-$450 (w/o duty obviously) and I've been reading a few reviews of cameras online but I have no idea really.

Some ones that I have found to be decently rated around the price (note these are all from US websites so the price out here might be more expensive).

Olympus SP-310
Olympus SP-350
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W7
Olympus SP500
Canon PowerShot A620 & A610

I live in Sydney and I found an online site that sells cameras quite cheap http://www.pluscorp.com.au/

Otherwise I will probably buy it online from http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/

They both seem to be the cheapest around, well from my couple of hours searching today anyway.

as per the thread; i'd recommended fuji F10. the panasonic equivalent (can't remember the model) also seems quite good.

be careful, some of these great ebay deals come from hong kong, and you can get stung for around 12% duty.

i just bought an OLYMPUS MJU MINI and i love it.
i paid $370 at Paxtons for it, although i saw it a few weeks back at JB HiFi for $300.

4megapixel
lithium-ion battery that lasts ages and ages

it's splashproof which is a massive bonus oh, and it's TINY, which is handy. plus it comes in four colours (blue, black, silver, and red)

someone had one of them on our SEasia tour... i thought that camera was a piece of shit personally.

if you're going overseas, maybe buy it in australia duty free... it saves a LOT of hassle than trying to get some dodgey ebay shop to honour their warranty...

the ebay one is not a bad price chrisc, but you add in shipping and customs it won't be less than $20 cheaper than getting it from www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au (http://www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au) or something. i thnk a warranty is well worth twenty bucks.

edit: just noticed it comes with a 512mb card... that makes it a much better price. up to you i guess...
