early on in phil k's set he played a beautiful breaks track with gorgeous high pitched female vocal. sorry not much of a description i know. anybody got any ideas?

I'm pretty sure it was Hybrid's remix of Fear by Sarah McLachlan...
I got a copy of it on the anjay cd I got when I brought a ticket for adam freeland...

@!#$, i forgot all about it, ill go listen now.
it could also be the breakz mix of papua new guinea with mc coles "sincere" acapella over the top...thats what he did up here in bris...which by the way sucked according to phil coz the sound was all eq'd rong and the crowd was not going off like last time when my mates bought him up....the best bit was racking lines in his apartment....but yeah

It wasn't Fear, it was "Silence" by Delerium (featuring Sarah McLachlan) - not sure whose remix it was though.
this is a truly goddamn awesome track... two other awesome mixes of it are:
'DJ Tiestos in search of sunrise mix' (on 'Sarah McLachlan Remixed') - this is a fantastic peaktime eurotrance kinda mix
the one on Winter Chill 2 CD1 (cover doesnt list whose mix) - very chill and calm, gregorian chants, nice to listen to the night after the day after the night before
Phil K is a dude... he even was nice and forgave us for accidentally measuring his head at Breaks Ahoy 3...

silence? mmmmmmmmmmmm i didn't think so. maybe i was more out of it then i thought but it must have been a savage reworking.

u said early on in the set tho didn't you?... silence was one of the last tracks played and it sounded like he was playing the acapella over somethin else... If there is an officially released nu-breaks mix of it tho, ID it too plz :)

yup early in the set, def not one of the last played. mmmm mysteries..
tanks all for tryin
Just in case ur wondering, Phil was way too tired to even lift a finger after his gig hey, rather than join me and a couple of friends in festivities,,I think the best he could do was to show us the basics of the CDJ 1000 and how to connect it to a TV b4 he crashed out on the sofa, but hey, 4 hours and a bus from canberra to sydney then plane to brisbane will do that to you. But hey full respect to the guy for doing that gig after what had happened with the transport situatation(incidently, if u pllay after phil, remeber to use ur own headphones hey...it helps a fair bit)....Now about obtaining one of those cdj1000's

The Silence remix was just an accapella over a breaks track. Not sure bout the other track but. None the less his skills certainly blew me away, I so want that CD player!
did he have an EFX500 up there, i couldnt see one, every other time ive seen him he has had one, with out a doubt the best EFX box ive ever played on, was built for DJ's but no DJ's use them. For live stuff its killer tho, live effects all the way, even runs midi for those who havent discovered the joys of audio.
