Well what a night. I dont think any one really knew what to expect but did we get blown away or not? I VOTE YES!!!!

I love the venue. I spent most of the night sitting back watching everyone go crazy on the dance floor. myself i got bored at stages but thats what happens when you cant dance, can barely walk due to a broken foot.
i'm very glad i could sit back and enjoy the show. I highly like the idea of say joining the "chill out/catch your breath" area and the dance floor and all the action being so close and interacting with each other.

i have personally been to the royal theatre a few times before and have done some work with canberra theatre but the look on some people faces and the comments about the roof and the size was interesting at times. i think we need to get out a bit more. (it was as if they have never been in a theatre.

the sound and the lighting - what words could ever decribe them. OH MY GOD. the bass was thumping me in my seat and so clear and easy to the ear. the lighting amazing at times you didnt know which one to watch or sit back and get blown away!!!

i wont bad mouth the acts.

I AM DYING TO KNOW THE OFFICAL NUMBERS!!!!

all night all i could do is wish that NO ONE fucks up and gets us banned from there cause i VOTE for another one soon!!!!! (mind you i also went off at a few people for smoking inside)

overall WHAT A NIGHT!!! i dont think many of us will forget it very quickly.

A BIG THANKYOU TO THE TWISTED CREW - PLEASEEEEEEEEEE I AM WAITING TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE PLANNED NEXT AND SOON PLEASE!!!

A BIG THANKYOU TO EVERYONE INVOLED!

AND A VERY BIG THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE. from what i saw the night went very nicely and the VIBE! GO CANBERRA!

that will be all.

goodnight

well after being fairly skeptical for a while in the leadup to TR, I have to come out and say I thought it was awesome.

Good things:

* excellent quality sound and lighting. sound had a bit of a dead spot right up front
and centre tho the rest of the theatre was outstanding, crisp clear sound with bass that shook me from hair to toes
* great venue - clean! not dodgy! lots of room to chill out & go outside. For non-smokers like myself a pretty much smoke-free main room was great, I always come out of a night at Habana with smokers cough. Drinks & munchies served by people in bow ties and waistcoats... classy!
* My fave sets were Mark Dynamix, Andrew James and Nubreed.
* lots of nice CLEAN TOILETS and basins and cold water!!!

Bad things:
* Didn't personally like Typhonic or Bexta's sets - but both had fairly solid
dancefloors going so all good there, I took the opportunity to run around outside. Saw some nice skratchwork going on from Typhonic though, nice one
* hmm thats about it for bad things

crazy highlight of the night, the girl I met who decided she was going to name her cat cyzilla. (Which is pretty cool except the last cat I had the vet gave ketamine to, and he fell over on his head and didn't look happy, I hope she doesn't do that in case I fall on my head too)

Overall It didn't seem like a huge crowd, but that might be because there were always quite a few people in the foyer or smoking or seated. Hopefully it was financially viable for the Twisted Crew. If not, I'm sure a 2nd event in the royal theatre would attract a monster crowd based on word-of-mouth alone.

two thumbs up. very impressed!

It was a a superb nite, a lot better then i expected. Highlights include Typhonic dropping "smack my bitch up" and having the crowd move like a bunch of mongoloids, Chris Fresh's last set for the year was especially enlightening and diverse, as he played two of my fav tunes, "intensify" and "chase the sun" and who can forget beXta showing her hidden piano skills as she shines in "one for the road"... and who was it that played that funky mix of "push it"? neone remember? All in all, it was a great venue with great music and a great vibe from the people..... thank u Twisted.

Pretty sure it was Andrew James, definately worked out better this way, GT has been fairly average the last few times.

Most impressed!

I don't know much about what makes an awesome dance party, but I do know this I had an unbelievable time, the best ever this year.

DJ Matt Chavasse, introduced me to the Nu Breed guys, and they were good value to talk to, at one stage I asked Michael, what he thought of Britney Spears (Why I don't know) but he said, "I would say that Britney was not one of our biggest influences in our music, but I would like to see her bent over" this lead to more conversation about Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson....

I also meet typhonic, I thought he would be older, but all the same he was pretty cool.

Matt Chavasse, was happy with his set but said it was wired just to stand up there in front of everyone, doing nothing while he waited for Nash T's track to finish before he could mix it up again.

Highlights of the night music wise for me were: Rapture and Relax,

Big Thanks to the Twisted Crew....

The venue was amazing - clean, good sound, plus it was great to be somewhere other than Habana or the ANU. I doubt they would have broken even with the numbers there, but if Twisted could risk another event there, I'm sure it would be much bigger.

As for the music, it was a mixed bag, but mostly good. IMHO there were a few too many anthems. But hey, what do I know. Nubreed were cool - more live sets would be great in future.
