music events in LA

I'm gonna be in LA for most of july and wanted to know if theres any music festivals happening. Also can anyone recommend any clubs?

I wna check out some hip hop clubs and also trance and proggy..

the electric daisy festival happens around that time but dont know the dates this year. its at a huge field about one and a half hours drive east of LA.

also use the search function (its back), there's been threads on this before, but to get you started I'd think you'd like Avalon (vine st near hollywood blvd) for prog/house/tech/trance.

for hip hop i cant help much except to say that you shouldnt have a problem finding a place. i know KRS-1 had a club night happening with a few big name guests but its not my scene.
