Ironic would be the story of the death of a man i knew,

I think the example of irony is that Alanis Morisette's song Ironic isn't actually ironic at all. Rain on your wedding day? That's not ironic, that's just bad luck. Ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife? Who the fuck has ten thousand spoons anyway?

I had to laugh at the irony of that aswell. They didn't think real hard about it, "some one drew our prophet as violent, we resent this and we show it by firing rounds into the air and threatening violence against your people."

The other example I can think of is that cop that was showing a bunch of up and coming officers fire arm safety, then promptly shot himself in the foot when holstering his own firearm.
