Is anyone else really frustrated by this show?? I mean, first it's on (prime, I think) then it's off, now Channel 10 have it but they're about 2 seasons behind.

Nothing ever happens, Sorry I should rephrase:
Clark is the ultimate good guy. Clark and his gang of buddies solve mysteries. Clark get sick from kryptonite. Clark recovers to save the day. Rinse and repeat. BAH.

This show frustrates me. Bring on Bryan Singer's Return of Superman and let that be that.

True and he dosent use his powers enough.

And every episode another bad guy has kryptonite.

Its pretty much his only weakness, but does get repetitive afte a while.

But i do like Lex in this series, but he needs to turn into the evil prick he trully is.

wwww.darkhorizons.com has a summary of most cool TV shows, and Smallville ain't revealing much over the next 2 seasons. I was hoping there would be some cool Smallville event coinciding with the release of Superman Returns, but alas, it doesnae loook like it.

Have to admit though he does play a good superboy.

They need a good bad guy, someone who almost or does match superboy, and they need more special effects, blow up a fucking mountain or something, and fly for fucks sake.

Like everything in my life, my feelings for the show are a paradox. I love it. I hate it.

I've downloaded season 5, and am enjoying watching it at the same time as I swear at the monitor.

It helps that Kristin Kruek is really fucking fine.

I watch the show for Tom Welling... HOT! Apart from that, yes, it is a bit all over the shop. Bring back Lois & Clark! It was my obsession in the last 90s. Teri Hatcher was much better then too, had a bit more skin on her - her face now looks like the face from the painting The Scream (i think?).

I hate it when the TV stations muck around with timing - they did it with Buffy and their now doing it with Charmed. Shits me to tears, I can never remember when or where its on, miss it and give up on the show pretty quickly. Luckily though with most of these shows its easy enough to get back o nthe bandwagaon when then keep the timing consistent again (usually over summer when nothing else is on).

Yes, Yes, and YESSSSS

Superman is the type of superhero that just doesn't exist anymore, the stand-up for what's right, do the right thing, never be evil, etc etc etc. It was good for the 20's and even for the 70's. Is he even relevant these days?? Singer's SR is even set in the early 40's (it looks like anyway).
Now: if Superman was being 'questioned' by Jack Bauer on an island with genie's and polar bears, I wouldn't complain one little bit.

mm, as most people have suggested, its a love hate relationship with this show. some of the earlier seasons (2-3) were bloody awesome, but lately all i want to see is him fly (even tho i know this will never happen on smallville) and yeah, chloe is tops, lana=fake!

what??? Lana Lane is the bestest thing on TV... :(

or are you specifically talking about the character, not the actor?

i think she's kinda not. Didnt she just tell the reporter guy to use lois as her name for that column so he dont get busted for publishing her shit after she was fired? :|

Also. I think lex is pwn as well. Always got useful wisdom to impart on Clark. Im struggling to picture him being eeebil :|

Considering Lois Lane turns up in season 4, you're kinda well off the mark there NK.

^^^

Though a lot of people here in internet land are trying to suggest to the show makers that lois lane dies and chloe takes her name...

They basically dont like the Lois Lane character/actress at all!

maybe im just blinded by kristen but im happy to be in my ignorantly blissful acceptance of what the show is, captivating entertainment story of one of my childhood heros.

personally i like the gradual development of the characters. its very much like real life with the back and forth between clark and lana, and like how now hes rekindling his (more than) friendship with chloe. theyve all had their ups and downs and theyre learning to deal with their situations. i like lex especially cos hes so fuct up but hes still trying to be a good guy. but you can see the beginnings of what pushes him over the edge.

i think you guys are just over simplifying it. using that analysis you could put down any series...
family guy - peter does something stupid, stewey says something about killing his mum.. BORING
x files - mulder and scully come across ANOTHER freak occurance YAWN
seinfeld - its about nothing.... AGAIN
:slap:

ps. easy on the spoils for us free to air types :p

Keep watching guys, it starts to get interesting very soon. I'm about 2 seasons ahead and can tell you it gets a lot better and everything starts falling into place.
There's less freak of the weak kryptonite infected episodes from now on and more which are relevant to the main story arcs of superman.
Clark/Lana, Clark/Lex becoming enemies, Clark finding the fortress of solitude etc.

p.s. Lois joins the show first eppy of season 4 - about 8 shows away. She's hotter than Lana too :D

K, so like last night's episode was the best Smallville I've ever seen!! I didn't like that Clark was all 'Kal El can fly, I can't", apart from that, brilliant episode and the whole flying bit (including his take off) was awesome! Kal El ftW!!

^Yes.

Also Kristen/Lana can die. She is the most annoying character on the show, even with the sound off. No one can act annoying that well. it must be real.

I've never warmed to Lana, but she is pretty!

Last night's ep just seemed like I had missed a whole season or something, it seemed so different to previous shows (pretty much the whole series) it just really stepped it up a notch.
