I am going to Spain this year and really want to check out this party: www.monegrosfestival.com
Last year's line-up was huge/quality!
Does anybody know anything about this year's party eg:Tickets/Lineup etc.
Anyone with any suggestions/comments about Monegros or who have been previously would be appreciated!
Thanking you in advance :)
Yeah, lordhuk and I went. My advice would be to hire a car in advance and drive from Barcelona. It didn't end up costing that much and the bus that goes there gets there really early and leaves really late - which I wouldn't want to sit around waiting for. We left at like 8am and it was already getting stinking hot.
The lineup is amazing, and the setting etc. is cool. BUT... it was probably the worst planned event I've ever been to. It took us a full hour "lined" (a giant crush really) to get our tickets and it was much the same getting drinks early on.
The other major plus is you will witness by far the best collection of mullets ever seen on this planet.
I'll be there this year for sure. :thumb:
Oh, and you can book tickets to the event on the internet. They wont be up yet, but the link was on the website.
Wow, last years line up looks awesome. Don't think i'll have the funds to do it this year, but keen on doing this one in 07.
The long drive would be a ball breaker though.
It's less than two hours.
gutted i missed this last year... stopped short of the line by some 320kms
i think we could see a new direction in mullet art this year, the spanish know when a trends nearing its end... bring on the creativity i say

you wanna see poorly planned - get to serbia for EXIT. 'giant crush' would be an understatement. it was beyond terrifying.

had no idea it was all on one day! so even if you met the mullet of your dreams.. you'd have no time to get to know each other.
imagine the clashes. the pressure! they should make it two days, without a break. THAT, i'd pay to see
Errr. You don't talk to the mullets. You just point, fall onto the dirt and laugh.
After looking at last years line-up, I was a bit annoyed I rushed into booking flights & accom for the love parade this year... it's a great line-up but I don't feel so bad now.
keen for '07 though.

Still, it sure beats being trapped in a moving crowd of gurners behind a float that's blasting out the best of 2006's Hi-NRG. :thumb:

Sick festival. Better than last year because we were ever-so-slightly more organised this time. Still arrived quite late so missed our highly anticipiated heckling session of Richie.
No hour-long queues to get in this time thankfully. Got there when Los Hermanos (S2) was DJing - has that Rolando "don't fuck with me look" but his skillz are nowhere near as good. Followed up by Galaxy 2 Galaxy who tore the place apart with their live show. Birth of 3000, Return of the Dragons, Transitions/Inspiration, Hi-Tech Jazz, Aguila and Gerald Mitchell on the mic for a belter of Soulsaver. Finished with a stupidly good rendition of Jaguar. Awesome.

Quite munt by this stage watching Joris Voorn's DJ set and now bathing in a sea of mullets. Extremely tight mixing throwing in a lot of his own stuff (both sides from his Rejected EP). Truly a producer who's DJing is as good as his production, just a shame he wasn't playing a live PA cos that's where he really shines. Cut short watching the flying Dutchman as we had to leg it over to Kenny Larkin who was in the end massively disappointing, playing some shitty electro-tinged sound. Not sure what his laptop was doing for him either.
Spent far too long in the Kenny tent talking shit, attempting to stand upright and stressing over lost mates. Finally mustered the energy to catch the tail-end of Danny Tenaglia's 8 hour set. Dropping bomb after endless dirty deep 'n dark house bomb (thinking the majority of his tracks were re-edits, including some super-extended track off Sleeparchive's "Elephant Island"), diving under the table for some Vitamin C supplements and then marching around the stage like a certifiable loon. If he wasn't throwing his dirty socks at the crowd he was attempting to scale the lighting rig. At one stage he got off the stage, walked down into crowd on the floor and started mouthing the lyrics to the track! Only ever heard stories of his legendary sets at Twilo but can now see what all the fuss is about. Unforgettable set.. even if you're not into his sound his showmanship is worth the ticket price alone.

;D Think his home PC has spat the dummie and it's like a scene out of 1984 at his work.
Good to hear you got your plane.. looked like you were running a bit late :-O
