Im just wondering how many weeks it took from the time u sent off your working visa application to the brittish high commission in canberra to the time you received it back.

I know they say 6-8 weeks, but i have a dilemna- it is 5 weeks until i go to nz for a short holiday(which i will need to have my passport back to go)
and then 5 weeks after i get back from NZ until i leave for london--

Has it taken less than 5 weeks for anyone to get it back?

May hafta cancel nz trip

Visa Section - Introduction

The current processing time for visa applications is approximately 15-20 working days from the day the application arrives in the Visa Section. If you are not travelling within the next 4 weeks it is not necessary for you to personally lodge your application in Canberra. We regret we are unable to provide a same day service at the counter, however we will endeavour to process your visa by the next working day provided it is a straightforward application.

I got mine back in 3.5 weeks. They say if you submit over the net and send the info in the mail off, you will get it quicker than just sending in the mail.

If it really is an issue (which it sounds like it is), you can drive to Canberra and get it on the same day....maybe you should just do that, then you don't have to worry.

just drive down to canberra, hand the forms over in the morning, get it back a few hours later.
