View Full Version : What Sport do you play and who for ?
Just wondering what sports and teams most ITM's play for ? ? - or do you prefer to participate in individual sports ?
I play cricket for Runaway Bay on the Goldie and i also play futsal for the AB Shocks.
We lost our grand final 2-1 in golden goal extra time!!
Id play outdoor if i didnt have to work so late.
I went through a period where i was more intrested in partying then playing sport 19-23, but now im back on the bandwagon.
I play Rugby for the University of NSW, currently in first grade but after the weekends performance i wouldnt be suprised if i got dropped ! Prior to that i was at Randwick Rugby for 8 years.

Used to play basketball 3 times a week (just socially, but we took it seriously)... I tored my ACL last year and have retired. Now I'm thinking about getting into yoga, and possibly cricket over summer.

I wouldnt mind getting into a team sport, might use this thread to get some ideas!
Played baseball for 8 years, wouldnt mind trying cricket, I can bowl but I have a very suspect action apparently...,
Oh yeah, I used to be a representative Basketballer (ie. played for the Sharks and NSWCCC)...

Played for Kings Old Boys in rugby union last year.
This years season started last week but I had to work and I don't know if I can be arsed playing again

Golf for Latrobe golf club, here in melbs
played filed hockey for four years as a goalie for school and camberwell hockey club in melbourne. then played on field instead of keeping and played for my school's 1st XI..
i'd really like to start playing AFL but haven't played since i was 12 so i think i'll rebuild my fitness (tore ligaments in november) and skills this year and then join the old boys for school next year.
Futsal for Dirty Sanchez in the Glebe comp
Just started playing Futsal in a Brisbane Northside Competition. Ive had a 7 year layoff from an ACL injury, feels good to be running around again.
Football (soccer) for Oakhill, AA3's. Used to play super league, but playing with mates ftw. Play in a six-a-side comp too over summer.
Thinking about getting a cricket team together for a bit of fun next season...

Basketball for Hellraisers @ Cambridge Park Stadium. Fourth season. After making the Grand Final last year we have some new players and havent made the top four all season.
Although a friend and I are looking to get a team together closer to the city. I've been playing bball since about year 8 in High School.
Played State League BBall in my younger days but partying took over when i was about 20.
Wouldn't mine getting back into it socially in the near future.

Cricket - Surfers Paradise
Indoor Soccer - Jackson's 5 (A Grade Champions :) )
Bodyboard - At least 3 times a week. Nearly ALWAYS at TOS (Sth Stradbroke Island)
Golf - Socially (maybe once every 2 weeks)
Tennis - Socially (once a week)
AFL - Surfers Paradise
I also umpire AFL & Indoor Cricket and coach cricket 15hrs a week. Good paying cash in hand jobs that are great whilst still at uni :thumb:

much as if you declared yourself as the emperor of earth - people would tend to ignore you and your idiotic rantings, and go with the official representatives
football is a sport - it has rules, much as do other sports - the administraion of the game is undertaken by FIFA - they are voted by representatives from each nation - they make decisions on what will be endorsed, eg tournaments, rules etc

i play footy for the Hampton Hammers (ITS HAMMERTIME) in the SFL sivvy 2. mainly play in the magoos cos i lack that certain quality my coaches like to label "commitment". we just signed tim watson as our number 1 ticket holder. i dont know what that means.

Football. No team at present, need to find one. Should find myself a nice ethnic minority to hook up with and be the one token Irishman in a team full of Italians/Croats/Serbs whatever.
I'm a kinda "Journeyman/Mercenary" type, will play for any team, and hence, have played with all kinds of teams.
Should start looking; or if anyone's got a team who needs a good sweeper? (Or left back/right back, or striker. Prefer not central, not the best in the air, better on the deck)

Football (Soccer) for Queens Park AA7s. First year.
Bodyboard semi regulary after being obsessed up until a few years ago. Damn moving to Sydney.
I Play soccer in AA4 for Revesby Workers and train at various places for Martial Arts.
use to play rep basketball for the Bankstown Bruins but just recently stopped as the old body can't cope any more.

Just lost the final last night. Tied at 15 all at half time. Then tied again at 29 all at fulltime. Went 5 mins into overtime and lost by 2 points.

Queensland rep all throughout juniors for basketball, a good 6 years of 3 games + 4 trainings a week with a solid 2 weeks break each year = burn out.

Just started winter sport. AFL umpiring here on the Gold Coast on saturday mornings (good easy cash paying job ;) ) and then playing soccer for Surfers Paradise in the afternoon/evenings.
Winter sport is great.
